U1UUUII.I1L.UJ UUII1U MEXICO CITY. April 14. Tho "Great Tree of Tule.w in the state of Oaxaca, nfter some 800 years of recorded existence, Is beginning to show signs of wear and tear. TMe giant cypress, "with a trunk so huge that 30 persons with outstretched arms can scarcely span it. Is known to have been a fair sized tree when Columbus discovered America, and history recounts that Cortez and his Spanish soldiers slept beneath its branches four centuries ago when enroute to Honduras following their conquest cf Mexico. But although time has dealt kindly with the monach, the correspondent during a recent visit to the tiny vil lage of Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, noticed that the wrinkles of ago are beginning to show. There i3 no imnie diate cause for worry, however, that Tule. as the Indians affectionately call the tree, will wither away before tLe present generation has passed on. And even if it should, Tule has a son some BO yards away from the parental Dougns tnat is showing healthy signs of maintaining the family honor in the matter cf robustness. Hijo (son), as the Indians have named it, already is so large that 12 persons are needed to span it. and Hijo is only a couple of hundred years old. Tho Great Tree of Tule rises about. 175 fset, and is said to be one of the largest specimens in the world. The spread of its branches is almost 350 fet. It stands in tho courtyard of a tiny church and is the only bid "for popular interest made by tho village of Santa Maria del Tule, whote population reveres the tree almost as much as one of its saint3. RICHMOND You who have had trouble with the landlord over raises in rent or who have found It impossible to rent a house at all, should consider the solution offered by "Rent Free," Wallace Reid's clever new Paramount picture which is being Bhown at the Richmond theatre. Mr. Reld plays the part of a young artist who is in low fiancial straits after a break with his father, a lawyer. He takes to the roof when his money gives out and lives and works there in a tent He meets a girl (Lila Lee) who Is in similar financial difficulties and a love affair develops. Possibly it may be news to some that in New York there are one or two fine bungalows built on the tops of skyscrapers in the heart of the city but these would command big rentals. However, a tent ought to come cheaply. Why not try it out next time you are facing a housing problem? The air is fine and the summer days would be cooler "up In the air." Howard Higgin. directed this picture. MURRETTE A husband's moral code Is never so strict as when his wife steals some of his own stuff. Monte Collins, gay and irresponsible trifler, had no idea how his actions appeared In the eyes of his wife until she exercised the same freedom he enjoyed himself. He didn't like it! What did he do about it? See "Woman, Wake Up!" starring Florence Vidor at the Murrette theatre. This story by Ben Moore Clay, directed by Marcus Harrison and presented by Associated Exhibitors, is a comedy-drama of romance after marriage. While the courtship of Anne and Monte Collins is shown, the story really commences where stories usually end with "they lived happily ever after." MURRAY , I am a musical comedy. Then there are Brandeaux and Smith Brandeaux steps Apache, Spanish Gypsy, ye'olde colonial, all in costume befitting their bit in the show. And you ought to meet Miss Smith some looker. They call me the "show of special features" sort of a nickname I guess unless it's because I can do so many things so well. And if you think that's braggin. just come over to se me at the Murray theatre. You'll find out it's all cold facts. MURRAY VAUDEVILLE A beautiful and graceful contribution to the Murray bill playing the last half of this week is to be found in the offering by the Melo Danse. Several of the cleverest bits of terpsichory executed by both a charming young lady and several young men, are features of the entertainment Songs and piano numbers are presented by another feminine member of the company. The act is sure-fire. One is startled into amazement, and then amusement, at a portion of the Wayne, Marshall and Candy act. Much of the action centers about this surprise and what follows tends only to heighten the novel effect. Lew Huffman's "hattery" tricks win with his audience because of his genial manner and skillful method of maneuvering. He leads off first on the arrangement of acts. "Detailed" is one of those "pieces without much plot, but not lacking in little by-play conducive to mirth. Thomas Jefferson in "Rip Van Winkle" is the film attraction. MARVIN. i oeiieve every woman loves a bargain

by Mrs. Mary Preston Cooking Expert and Food Analyst Of course women look for bargains. I do! And so does every woman. It just comes natural for us to save money on things we buy. But there's a difference between a bargain and something that's merely cheap. A real bargain is quality at a low price. That's why I say that Heekm's is a genuine bargain for any woman. But let me tell you the whole story. You know that The Heekin Company asked me to try Heekin's Baking Powder and report on the results obtained. I analyzed it, and I know that a purer baking powder cannot be made. (No foreign ingredients are added to create an unnatural effervescence or to give a false impression of quality.) Then my assistants and I baked with it never was our baking more successful. In fact, we have never had one failure when using Heekin's. In my business, I have had a wide experience with baking powders. But after analyzing Heekin's and baking with it, I really believe that there is not a better baking powder, regardless of price. Yet Heekin's costs much less than any other baking powder that even approaches it in quality. So Heekin's is a genuine bargain. It is the finest possible quality at a lower price than you would have to pay for an ordinary baking powder you save money by using It. And Heekin's is the favorite with thousands of women, because every woman gets excellent results with it. The Heekin Company is so sure of the successful results that you will get, that they make this guaranteeIf anything you bake using Heekin's does not tuni out to your entire satisfaction, name the ingredients in whatever you bake, their prices, and the price of the baking powder, and the entire amount will be returned to you by The Heekin Company, Cincinnati, Ohio. There are no strings to this offer. Simply send the list with your name and address. Buy a can today and try it you'll like Heekin's.
