ANTI-SALOON LEAGUE ,,. OFFICERS RAID EATON LODGE CLUB ROOMS
(Special to the Palladium) EATON, Ohio, April 7. The Moose lodge club rooms on North Cherrystreet were raided by S. A. Propst, of Dayton, official of the Montgomery county Anti-Saloon league, and Attorney Jarvia, of Columbus, counsel for the league, about 6 o'clock Thursday evening. The raid resulted In the confiscation of 46 H cases of beer, six cases of malt, parts of two bags of eugar, an empty case of malt, and two boxes of worked over hops. No arrests have been made thus far. Search of the premises was made upon a warrant issued from the court of I T. Stephen, Justice of the peace of Eaton. The warrant was sworn to by Mrs. Mame Scheid, of Eaton.' In addition to the confiscated material, the officials took with them what was said to be the charter of the local Moose lodge, membership name cards and an account book: The Anti-Saloon League officials deputized John Hoffman, local constable, who went with them to make the search. . The confiscated material was found in a commissary room of the lodge, it was reported. The officers broke the lock to the room to enter, it was said. Only one member of the lodge was in the club rooms at the time of the search. The confiscated material
to the basement of tho court house. It is not known when further action will be taken In the case. It is not known whether action will be taken against the officers and members of the lodge. The local Moose lodge was organized about five years ago.
