HARRISON TOWNSHIP WELL REPRESENTED AT FARM MEETING
(Special to The Palladium) JACKSON-BURG. Ind., April 7. All of Harrison township was represented at the farmers' association meeting in Jacksonburg Thursday night, all ages, from children to graybeards, being attracted either by the hope of hearing the talks or of sharing in the liberal supper that was served by ladies of the community after the program. Explanation of the United States Grain Growers' plan of grain marketing was given by J. E. Scholl.'with the aid of a chart -showing the organization and operation of the corporation. Mr. Scnoll gave a brief description of causes which forced the development of this plan, traced the need for better farm prices and told of the Influences which have prevented farmers receiving them in the past, and mentioned the various commodity organizations r.ow being formed by farmers for better marketing of all their products. Touching particularly on grain marketing, he pointed out the ways in which it is possible tc out out needless expenses in getting the grain into, the hands of the final consumer. After the meeting, contributions were taken for the Harrison township quota for the county subscription to the Indianapolis co-operative livestock commission flrro, members expressing hearty approval of the project and strong hopes for improvement of live stock marketing through its agency. About 150 members and visitors were served with a chicken soup supper aftrr the meeting.
