"IRENE" The smart comedy "Irene," which for two whole years created a sensation at the Vanderbilt theatre in New York, closing tnere June 18, will be offered to the patrons of the Murray theatre as the attraction for Friday
I night.
The Vanderbilt Producing company, the sponsors of "Irene," present the attraction here with the same lavish investiture of scenery and effects seen in the New York production, and with the wealth of beautiful costumes designed and created by Lucile Lady Duff Gordon, all of which are a replica of these worn by the L-iie3 in the metropolitan presentation, of the play. Nor must it be forgotten that the cast of players has been a most Im
portant feature in the organization of this company. Each and every member whether he or she be principal or of the chorus, had to work with the

Newcastle; Alma Fern Wagner. Milton; Katherine Evans Wyatt, Rushville, and Maurice Bass Yarling, Shelbyville.
This was the idea of James Montgomery, the author, who took this means of ascertaining whether each individual was fitted to his or her part. MURRAY Chalk up another triumph for Louis J. Gasnier and R-C Pictures corporation! ."A Wife's Awakening," screened at the Murray theatre for the first time today touches a high artistic plane and provides entertainment of the most interesting character. "A Wife's Awakening" tells a story
that is fashioned not for any small
traction. This is a Selznick picture, with Eugene- O'Brien as the star, directed by Alan Crosland, from a story by C. S. Montanye. The adventure phase of the story
relates the experiences of a young j American. Howard Anderson, in Con-j stantinople,, where he discovers Mary j Talbot, an American girl, in the clutch- -es of an unscrupulous band of slave !,
traders .and rescues her after a series of thrilling escapades. The romantic element deals with love at first eight between the two leading characters, and the manner in which they lose each other, only to meet again in most remarkable circumstances. And the comedy, which is incidental to the principal story, and yet never far in the background, 13 an essential part of
the action, not dragged In by the heels :
for occasional laughs. All this is carried along in the picturesque atmos
phere of the orient with its mysterious 1
characters and still more mysterious secret passages and strange ways. Eugene O'Brien plays the part of the adventurous youth, and Sigrid Holquist that of the young woman in distress.

MOSQOW, March 30. The pendulum of the Russian Soviet clock is swinging, this winter, as far to the right as it once swung to the left, but the Communist party keeps the key to the works and accelerates its movements or retards them as it sees
fit. From a country where, one year ago private wealth was considered a crime; prohibition of liquor was a state policy and gambling was sometines punishable by death, Russia has changed to a land of open speculation, where people drink wine legally and
openly, and bet on horse-racing byi
means of betting machines from which the government takes a profit. These are just a few of the changes since the Kronstadt revolt last March prompted Premier Lenine to Inaugurate a new policy. In moving toward
a state of capitalism, the government, since the ninth all-Russian congrc-ss
closed a few months ago with approval of Lenine's plans, has taken turgical ehort cuts in an effort to change within" a few months the conditions prevalent for years. Moscow awakes each morning to a new surprise. It Beems only yesterday that private banks were prohibited. Today, a few strokes of the pen of the commissar of finance, and private banks may, operate at every corner.

whole, vast public that prefers to see j life reflected on the screen as life
really is. The production is chiefly distinguished, for its remarkable story value, its well rounded plot and the skill with which the small but efficient cast interprets the various parts. It has to do with the devotion of a wife whose efforts to save her husband from ruin places her own reputation under a cloud. She receives from her mate only the grossest condemnation for her aid yet she fights valiantly to f-ave him from himself. It is a theme that is close to the heart ofall humanity .for it deals with the relations of a husband and wife one toward another. ' If you are too fat or too thin if you lack that desirable American quality known as "pep" and "go" if you have annoying, dangerous gas, the chances are there is something wrong with your digestion. Dyspepsia, indigestion and kindred ailments of the stomach and digestive tract are prevalent among American people because we eat too fast and at irregular times. Strong, vigorous people are able to stand the strain for a time, but sooner or later the digestive organs rebel. They cannot stand overeating and the abuse of irregular meals and all sort- of cooking indefinitely. '
