TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF ESTABLISHMENT OF GRANGE OBSERVED
NEW PARIS. Ohio. March 20. The tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Whitewater Valley Grange wos celebrated in the grange hall Saturday nigbrt. Music, a history of the grange by one of its oldest members, a home talent play, and refreshments served after the program, kept the members until a late hour. A sextette of violins was responsiMe for much of the music, the violinists being Albert Garrison, Mary Alice Murray, Mildred Mitchell, Mary Coblentz, Donald Garrison and James Noakes. eral vocal solos, completed the musical program. In honor of St. Patricks day, songs were in Irish theme, "A Little Eit of Heaven," by Mary Alice Murray, "Mother Machree," by J. W.
Noakes and "Kathleen," by Mary Alice Murray, with, choral accompaniment by
a quartette. A music drama, with the parts givrn in song was one of the featur.es of the program. Those taking part were John Noakes, Mrs. Earl Mitchell and Mary Alice Murray. A reading was given by Hazel Luker. Interest Shown. Much interest was shown in a his

Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Morrow, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Jones, Mr. and Mrs. J W. Noakes, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bloom, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bragg, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larsh, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Price, Mr, and Mrs. A. J. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Purviance, Mr. and Mrs. John McWhinney; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Kuth, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Slorp and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bragg, Mrs. Mary Reid, Adam Reid, George Wolf, R. L. Watts, Frank Wilson, James Watts, John Watts and Miss Osa Cordell. A Juvenile Grange was formed In April of 1913 and continued for three years under direction of Mrs. A. J. Murray. The present hall was bought in 1914. The Grange belonged to the Parke County Pomona until May, 1918, when a Preble County Pomona Grange was formed. Masters of the Grange have been C. L. Jones, R. E. Morrow, II. W. Bragg, Adam Reid, J. W. Noakes, Earl Brandenburg. Verling Shafer, C. R. Coblentz and Roy Smelker. The program was concluded by short talks by the charter members present and reading of greetings from those who had moved away. Refreshments were served by young girls in white with shamrock decorated aprons and caps. The hall also was decorated in green. 1

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Chicago Corner church. Burial will be at the Brick Church cemetery. REV. FRANCIS M. WESTHAFER Funeral services for the Rev. Francis M. Westhafer, 72 years old, who preached for a number of years In Connersville and Mllroy, were held at the First Methodist church in Newcastle Monday morning. Rev. Westhafer was injured while assisting In some work at the church some months ago and died as a result of his injuries. He had been a Methodist minister for 37 years, the greater part of which was spent in the Indiana conference. He was born in Tracey, Ohio, in 1850, and moved to Indiana in 1865.
COLUMBUS WILL HAVE NEW JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL fRv Associated Preas COLUMBUS, March 20. Columbus is to have a new junior high school building and gymnasium. A bond issue of $125,000 recently was authorized for the building program by the city council. The buildings are expected to be ready for use by the opening of school in September.

Dorothy Winters (above) with Dr. Adolf Lorenz, was the last New York. City youngster to be treated by the eminent Viennese surgeon. The following day Dr. Lorenz left for Detroit to open a clinic. He will leave Detroit on March 24 and sail for his home in Vienna.
