Dotted owiss and embroidered organdie are to be just as popular this summer as they were last year. Both materials will be used for young and old. They are cool and colorful and easily laundered.

These three charming frocks for the little kiddies show bow attractively and simply the materials may be used. The frock in the center is embroidered organdie. The others are Swiss. Plain or

gandie is used to make the little hats at the right and in the center. They are trimmed with fluting, lace and ribbons. Dotted swiss may also be used to make summer hats to match frocks.

the George Washington Masonic National Memorial association. The structure will be erected by Masons of the U. S. and the building and grounds will involve an outlay of approximately

$2,000,000. The memorial plans are the result of a movement started more than twelve years ago by the Alexandria lodge of which Washington at one time was a master.

Lamon De Valera urging Dublinites to continue their fight for freedom in impassioned speech. The day following the nery speech of Eamon De Valera in Dublin, during which this photo was taken, Michael Collins, minister of finance under President Griffith of the Irish Free State, accused the former head of the Dail Eireann of plotting to overthrow the new free state fovernment. PHOENIX, Ariz., March 4. Education has been maae compulsory at the state penitentiary at Florence by the order of Gov. Thomas E. Campbell. The prisoners must spend one-half day in the classroom while the other half day is given over to vocational work or labor. The reorganization of the school system was worked out by Governor Campbell with a view of giving the men behind the bars a better opportunity for citizenship on their release from prison. While there has been a semblance of school at the institution in the past. It is said never to have functioned properly for vant of executive interest and proper supervision. Under the new system the classes will be conducted by Rev. James Hunter. The same text books used in the public schools of Arizona have been adopted for use in the penitentiaryl , United States history and geography will be featured In the cou-sr.

Mrs. Lillian N. Duke. A nation-wide search for Alfred E. Lindsey, accused by many prominent New York society women of having obtained large Sams v from them in stock transactions, has begun. Among the women Lindsey is said to have interested in stocks is Mrs. Lillian N. Duke, divorced wif e of James B. Duke, millionaire tobacco king, whohas told officials that she gave Lindsey $375,000. Lindsey is under indictment charged with larceny" of $17,OOt) from Mrs. W. H. Arnold.
