Latzarus attacked the new proprietor in bitter terms, and described him as a r.idical- socialist belonging to the "party of which Caillaux was formerly the acknowledged chief." At the fame time Eiouard Calmette, son of the former director, Gavon Calmette, vho was shot' dead by Mme. Caillaux, announced his resignation as general secretary of the Figaro. Mrs. Dunham was arrested at her home Friday morning. Officers had found a coil and cooler J for a still in her garage at 2 o'clock i Friday morning. Search of the house j when ' Mrs. Dunham was arrested ( )rought forth a tin lard can which had : served as the boiler for the still. Mrs. Dunham's husband. Alfred ; Dunham, was arrested Jan. 30, fined $100 and costs and given a 30 day sen- j tenre-to the penal farm, on conviction, of violation of the liquor laws.' Plans to replace the new National theatre here with a 12-story building occupied on ihe ground floor by the theatre, were announced today by the management. The National was one of a number of theatres closed recently for repairs after investigations which followed the Knickerbocker disaster.
