EDUCATIONAL NEEDS TO INDIA EMPHASIZED BY NATIVE SPEAKER

Victor M. Ilahibaksh, native of Bombay, India, spoke to the student of the Junior chapel Tuesday morning in the high scnool auditorium on the school life of the children of India. Mr. Ilahibaksh. who was educated in high schools and colleges of the United States, explained thoroughly the Indiaji situation. He said: "You children should be glad of the fact

that you have the opportunities which are thrust under your yee to advance to wonderful thing. The children of India envy you with your chances to advance kni would gladly exchange places with you. If , the children of India were to come to this country to go to school, they would soon adapt themselves to the conditions and would Boon be doing things as well as you American children do them. The children of India could come over to America and soon have your athletics mastered and compete in them and excel in them as any American child. "The schooling in India is different from that in this country. The men are the ones who go to school

in India. The women do not go on to higher education. Only in a very few cases, do women , enter A ecbool fdf higher' education." Mr. Ilahibaksh pointed out that India was In dire need of more advanced educational systems and that relief of this situation was his chief aim. He was to talk at a meeting of the Hi-Y club in the lobby of the Y. M. C. A. Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and to a Junior group of boys at 6 o'clock.
