SPEAK AT LIBERTY; TELL OHOYS' CAMP LIBF:RTY, Ind., Jan. 23. The child : welfare meeting held at the Carnegie "library Friday evening was attended by delegates from the various organic zations of the town, and the question ns to how youn, people of this community misht be given better opportunities for social advancement wis discussed by E. B. Knollenberg and Perry Wilson, of Richmond, and by a recreation director from Oxford, Oh'o. Mr. Knollenberg told of Richmond's plan for a summer camp for the you.ni-. sters v. hich the Y. M. C. A. is boosting, 'along with business men of Richmond. He said that this camp would be situated about 30 miles from Richmond, and that it would be rued for outinps which Richmond children wi!! want to take during the summer. He extended an invitation to Liberty people to join in the enterprise, saying that with our co-operation th whole venture would be not only more productive of Rood, but more adequately fupported financially. While no definite action was taken at this meeting, a committee, headed by A. A. Graham, was appointed, and this . committee will sound out the various business and social factors of the community with a view to finding out just how much support a definite program for organized young people's work will receive. It is thought that a general meeting will be called soon so that more views may be expressed. The meeting on Friday having been an invitational affair, and only a comparatively small number being present. See Minstrel Show. "Herbert's Greater Minstrels" showed to a packed house at the Coliseum on Saturday evening. This organization is one of the best in this line of entertaining, and an off date in their itinerary made it possible for Liberty people to see an entertainment that usually makes only the big towns.

High Mass Celebrated
In Respect to Pope High Mass was held in St. Mary's!
church Monday morning in respect to Tope Benedict who died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock. Rev: C'ronin conducted the services.
(Continued from Page One.) dianapolis he was doing precisely
what his predecessors had done, but, the congressman asserted, the court! as now conducted is a rather expensive one. "This expense comes very large
ly from mileage fees paid to jurors and to witnesses, and maintaining witnesses and jurors while they are at Indianapolis," Representative
Hickey said. He admitte'd that Judge) Anderson handled the business of his !
court expeditiously. The Hickey bill provides for a southern federal district court, with the court at Indianapolis, and a northern district court, with the court at South Bend. He points to the fact that many of he state's largest industrial centers are located in the extreme northern part, some of them as far as 150 milus from Indianapolis, and that the northern section is the one which is increasing most rapidly in population. He asserts that the need for establishing a separate federal
judicial district for northern Indiana has existed for some time. Nearly all the Indiana congressmen appeared before the judiciary committee in behalf of the Hickey bill. Admitting that Judge Anderson always keeps his docket well- cleared. Representative R. N. Elliott of the sixth district, stated his belief that the business now transacted by Judge Anderson's court was more than one judge should be required to attend to. "I think litigants are entitled to have the federal court brought nearer to them," Mr. Elliott said. "Many of these litigants are poor and it is a hardship to them to have to travel 100 or 150 miles to Indianapolis and remain at some hotel until their cases have been disposed of." Mr. Elliott pointed to the fact that suits against railroad?, which are mostly foreign corporations, are quite frequent and that under Indiana law such cases, when damages claimed are in excess of $3,000, can be transferred to the federal court, in the event the defendant company is a foreign corporation. It was explained to the committee that it was not an uncommon
practice for railroad companies to
transfer such actions to federal court. The Hickey bill was endorsed by Mr. Ellicttj although he explained the people of the sixth district were not particularly concerned about it. He said that should the Hickey bill be enacted the sixth congressional district would remain in the southern judicial district of Indiana, and he added that there was no place In his congressional district more than 80 miles from Indianapolis. "The bar of my district is not interested in the matter any further than this, that an additional federal court for Indiana would give Judge Anderson more time to attend to the federal court business of our district," Mr. Elliott told the committee.
SHRINE CONVENTION RED LETTER EVENT
The attendance at the convention of the Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine to take place in San Francisco during June of next year, under the auspices of Islam Temple, bids fair to exceed in numbers even the most sanguine expectations of the executive committee, already busily engaged in making reparations for the great event, which is intended to be a red letter one in the history of San Francisco and will result in the greatest gathering ever known in the wqst. It is now conservatively estimated that fully 150,000 persons will journey to San "Francisco to witness this magnificent and wonderful demonstration. The convention will be remarkable
for quality as well as quantity, for the order includes in its roster some of the most celebrated statesmen, jurists, sculptors, journalists, musicians and artists in the world.
