RELEASE UNION GITY -THEATRE MANAGER ON SUNDAY SHOW CHARGE WINCHESTER. Ind., Jan. 9. After deliberating for 10 hours the jury, in the case of the 'state of Indiana against Roll Wenger, charged with operating his moving picture show at Union City, on Sunday, Nov. 13, disagreed. On every ballot the vote stood 10 for conviction and two for acquittal. The trial was in progress two days. Open New Library. Farmland's new library was opened to the public Saturday. The library is located on the second floor of th building of the First National bank. The library will start out with more than 1,000 books, many of them being donated by the residents of the community. It also will be a part of the state library commission. Rebekah Lodge Election. The Rebekah Lodge of Farmland has elected the following officers: Mrs. George Driscoll. N. G.; Miss Edna Addington, V. G.; Miss Callie Cline, recording secretary; Miss Maud McIntyre, financial secretary; Mrs. Martha Boots, treasurer. Sues for Divorce. ' Suit for divorce has been filed In circuit court by Chloe Humphrey against Emmett Humphrey. They were married March, 9, 1918 and separated June 30, 1920. The defendant is charged with cruel and inhuman treatment. The plaintiff asks the court to restore her maiden name, Chloe Winkle. Robbers Take Silverware. Robbers have been at work the past week in Winchester. At the home of John Macey. a prominent attorney, they made the biggest haul, helping themselves to silverware to the value of about $125. Arrest Charles Switzer. Officials from Portland came to this city today and returned with Charles Switzer, who was arrested at Union City, on a charge of Grand larceny. Switzer is alleged to have stolen two overcoats and a revolver from persons residing at Portland. Appoint County Officers. Randolph county commissioner have announced the following appointments: county health officer, Dr. F. A. Chenoweth; county attorney, T. W. Hutchens; superintendent of county infirmary. Dr. E. Rine; constable, James M. Fletcher; court house custodian, J. .A. Davis; county hospi- , tal board, David Cox, J. L. Smith and Phillip Kabel; Miss Nellie Moist, superintendent.

WHISKY STILLS EXPLODE; FIVE FIREMEN BURNED NEW YORK, Jan. 9. Five firemen were seriously burned when two whisky stills exploded in the basement of a burning house in Brooklyn. One of the injured men was not expected to live. After the flames were extinguished police found seven stills in the basement as well as 100 fivegallon cans filled with alcohol and whisky. The house was untenanted.
