DISCUSS PROMOTING EDUCATIONAL MILK CONSUMPTION DRIVE

The procedure involved in putting, on an educational milk consumption I campaign, was explained to milk pro-j ducers and representatives of pome J civic organizations of Richmond,! Thursday nlgnt. at a meeting in the; county agent'a office, by J. L. Wann,; dairy specialist from Purdue uni-j ersity. j The campaign would be put on in: the form Qf a Milk Products Festival.: extending over a period of two weeks, J

under the direction of a man and woman sent from Purdue, and experienced in directing such work.

Silimar festivals have been conduct- j ed in Goshen, Huntington, and one is; in progress at Shelby ville now, while: others this winter are scheduled soon, for Evansville, Trre Haute, South j fiend and Columbus. In case one is; staged here, as is hoped by some who are interested, an open date is? avail-! able for the last part of January. I he j lestival would be under the auspices of Purdue and the county agent. Other city organizations which were not represented at the meeting last) night will be approached for consider-, at Ion of the project soon. The educational features of the festival are de-j figned to reach every school and iac-j tory in the county, with demonstra-; tions of the value of a more extensive! use of milk and dairy products.

EVERSON EMPHASIZES I PRIVILEGE OF SERVICE' "This church should feel proud of the privilege which it has to do things which help to lift up the world," said Colonel William G. Everson in his address at the First Baptist church Thursday night Colonel Everson based his speech on the "Seven Wonders of Christianity,"

which he named as the Bible, personality of Christ, plan of salvation, eternal life, adoption, heaven and service. "Even though the first six of the seven are important in all due respect, the seventh is the greatest, and is the pleasure of us all today. To render service to the degrading class in the world is the most remarkable

privilege which we could ask and the fact that we can serve the world makes us stand up with pride in recognition of the fact. Purpose of Life "The main purpose of our life is to serve, and thanks to God we are able to do so. At the close of his talk, Col. Everson launched a campaign for the pledging of funds to clear off the church debt and for the purpose of remodeling the church. Beginning with a pledge of $200 by the ladies' aid society, the congregation responded until the sum had reached close to $3,001), which was more than the quota which the officers of the church were asking.
