THE CHILDREN'S GREETING Chapter 32 "Why it's Dick!" Mrs. Talbot exclaimed in amazement as eh recognized the figure by the suitcases. Dick turned and, smiled and walked across to meet her. "I'm going too," he announced. "Ma said I better go the same time you were, so you wouldn't feel so nervous traveling alone." "You're going to the city?" She did rot seem to understand. Dick nodded, looking to see whether anyone was within hearing. They were alone, and he added "I couldn't stay around here if Amy isn't coming back. I think she needs
looking after.'
her head swam and she wished herself home and away from thia din of sound and these scurrying people. When they got off the car, they were on a dark quiet street with buildings on each side that seemed to touch '.he sky. "You'll find a lot of changes, mother," Luther said, as h hunted for his latchkey. They walked up great flights of stairs. Amy had to rest after the third one, to get her breath. At last they reached a door Luther opened it.
"Jane and Amy had to go They'll bo home soon," he said, get you something to eat in kitchen." "Do you live here, too?" "Yes," he said, throwing his

boy. "That's nice of you, Dick. And I'm glad to have you along. I am awful nervous." Dick saw about her ticket. And she setlled herself In the train with a feelnig of great relief. She hated the Idea of going so far alone; she had never traveled in her life, except short distances to nearby towns. It was a long trip, with several chauges of cars, and a lunch snatched in a Junction station. Though in actual miles they were not so very far from the city, the trip took the entire day. But every bit was a delight to these two inexperienced travelers Dick had never been to the city either. "But everyone was going and I
couldn't stand it," he said. Dick had
a perfect frankness that was
to his mends. It was bad eno
when Amy was away and I could count off the weeks until she got back. But when she wrote she just wasn't coming well, if she isn't
coming back to the country, I havej to go to the city, that's all." i
It was perfectly simple. Dick was

Dear Mrs. Thompson: I am a girl nineteen years old and have been engaged to a boy for about three months. I love this boy very much and know he loves me. Do you think he should care if I go with other boy friends once in a while? We do not expect to get married for a while yet. I do not

had about mentioning that he was thirsty. He would not have talked romantically about her; that, somehow, was different. But he was in love and why not admit it? Something in his sim pliclty and sincerity forbade smiles or teasing from the boys and gir'.s he knew at home. Mrs. Talbot was very much touched. "You know I'm on your side, don't you?" she said. Dick nodded, grinning a little, and suddenly shy. And the woman felt that she had one warm friend, ?t least, in this adventurous journey 10 the city. Eventually, carrying their heavy suitcases, they emerged with the crowd upon the great station platform arrived at last, tired and dirty and hungry, in New York. Mrs. Talbot never dreamed so many people could be In one piace, as were
crowded into the station. She walked! close to Dick, wondering what nhe would ever have done, had she ar-j rived alone. j Then out of the sea of strange; faces, each one peering intently forj someone on the train, thpre camej the welcome sight of Luther. Amy
means his happiness and mine too? He has not given me a ring yet. Isn't It ell righu not to receive a ring as soon as you are engaged? BLUE EYES. I do not blame your fiance in the lpatl for objecting to your going with other young men. I agree with him that it does not look as if you loved him very deeply. Unless you are willing to give up company with other young men, break your engagement. Since the boy's parents disapprove of the marriage, and since you feel you ought to be going with other young men, I would advise that the engagement be broken until your fiance completes his school work. At the end of that time if ycu still care for each other, renew the engagement. Many a girl does not receive her engagement ring as soon as she becomes engaged.
NOME, Alaska, Dec. 13 An Arctic adventurer, B. D. Seaman, sailed into Noma from the frozen north this month and, not knowing that the war
was over, tried to enlist in the American army so he could fight in France. Seaman said he had been three years getting to Nome from the Cor
onation Gulf country, which lies far east on Canada's Arctic coast and dur
ing his journey had received no news from the outside world. He left the gulf, he declared, in October, 1918, when he first heard the United States
had entered the war. Seaman was formerly a member of the then Royal Northwest Mounted Police. Soon after Seaman started for Nome the small schooner on which he was Journeying was wrecked in the ice, he said, and he and his companions were forced to walk 27 days before they came to an Eskimo village. On their way they lived on roots. Describes Eskimo Life. Seaman gave an interesting description of the life of the Eskimos of Coronation Gulf. The natives, he said, still use tho bow and arrow but are gradually getting accustomed to the
use of fire-arms, which were intro-j duced recently. The natives live oni caribou and seal. I A rifle in the Coronation countrysells for $160., cartridges for 30 cents ! aarh ciiirar ia 41 a riAnnd Knttoi" fill i

contains the principal chemical constituent of active living nerve force in a form which most nearly resembles that in the brain and herve cells of man. It also contains organic iron like the iron in your blood and like the iron in spinach, lentils and apples. Organic iron enriches the blood and plenty of rich red blood means more nerve force, so that Xuxated Iron not only feeds what might be termed artificial
nerve force to the nerve ceils, but it stimulates the blood to manufacture a greatly increased supply of new nerve force. If you are weak, nervous or run-down, get a bottle of Xuxatod Iron today, and if within two weeks' time you do not feel that it has increased your nerve force and made you fel better and stronger in every way, your money will be refunded.
