GOSPEL WRITERS, APOSTLES COULD NOT AGREE SO MINUTELY IF CHRIST WERE NOT DIVINE DR. BULGIN TELLS TABERNACLE CONGREGATION
CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind.. Dec. 1. Isaiah's prophetic description of Christ, wrifen centuries before the advent of the Messiah in Bethlehem's man ger, -was the text of the sermon in -which Dr. E. J. Bulgin. preaching in the tabernacle here, exhorted men and -women to become followers of the God-man. The divine origin of Christ and His messianic mission on earth to establish a spiritual kingdom -whose beneficient influence was to exalt the souls of many millions, -were defended by Dr. Bulgin. "who affirmed his belief in the miracle of God becoming man. He said it was impossible for the gospel -writers and the apostles to have written records whose agreement in details is so minute, if Christ had not been a historical character and had actually appeared on the stage of human affairs. The Isaiah text, declaring, "And hi. name shall be called Wonderful. Counsellor, the Mighty God. the Everlasting father, the Prince of Peace." afforded Pr. Bulgin opportunity for the development of the theme. He said in part: Text Is Prophecy This text Is a prophecy. And following the far-off star of hope as Israel did in looking for the Messiah to come, Simeon, one day wait in temple, took ir his arms the strange little baby brought there by a sweer vnnnp' mnihnr tttirwn lift. tvh mire

Theretore, my conclusions are that if Jesus of Xazareth was a man we are hound to surpass Him. If He was God we are bound to obey Him. Take vour ultimatum. BULGIN THOUGHTS
If Matthew, Mark. Luke and John -wrote about an imaginary character how did they succeed in creating just the sort of a perfect character that -we would expect a God to be. ' If we disbelieve the Bible story, and drop the belief in Christ, we must accept a greater miracle, that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John succeeded in writing a drama greater than any one since has created, in imagining a more perfect and original character than any writer has since. If the Bible is a literary creation it surpasses anything done since. The door is closed in our reports on Christ's life until the age of 12, because it Is impossible for the human intellect to comprehend divinity before that. age. If Christ was only a highly developed character,' the product of his age, a better age should produce a better character. Then the modj ern age should produce a higher i character than Jesus. V is so wonderful, His mother is either the foulest of women or the sweetest of maidens. While man objects to

But he never called upon divine ener.iv to curse His enemies. Yet John, the beloved disciple suggests calling down fire from heaven and burning out the enemy. But Christ re-j plied: "The Son of Man is not' come to destroy men but to save them." And yonder, when in agony of soul, when buffeted and struck by the lists cf these poor, miserable, selfish men. He could have used divine power and smitten them to eartn witn tne inunuer peals of his wrath, could have called the Man of Galilee, with all power to work miracles, never called upon di-! vine energv to curse mis enemies, i; have often thought that if we had the ;
