FINE JOHN L. PETRY $500 IN EATON COURT FOR LIQUOR VIOLATION EATON", Ohio, Nov. 24. John L, Petrj'. former, living six miles north of New Paris, was . fined $oOO and costs here in ti:e court of Squire L. T. Stephen for violation of the prohibition laws'. He plsaded guilty. Squire Stephen suspended $300 of the fine during good behavior. Petry spent several hours in the county jail before securing money to pay the fine?
and costs. A still, mash and some liquor we'e unearthed in a raid upon Petry's home, raiding officers declared. They said the still was found under the floor in the house, and was still warm. The still and the liquor was presented in Ihe court as evidence. Sustains Damage Decision. In a court of appeals decision received here Wednesday, 'common pleas court is affirmed in a damage judgment awarded Grover Queensberry against the Pennsylvania Railway company for personal injuries. A jury awarded Queensberry $2,500. The railway company was unsuccessful in an effort to secure a new trial, after which the case was taken to the higher court upon error. Queensberry was employed by the company at the time he was injured.

Obtain Temporary Injunction Temporary injunction has been obtained in common pleas court by the I.ewisburg Home Telephone company, of Ijewisburg, " against Oak Weaver moving a barn over streets in Iewishurg. Judge W. W. Teegarden, of Greenville, sitting at a trial in common pleas court, granted the temporary restraining order in the absence of Judge A. C. Risinger. The company was required to furnish $300 bond. The telephone company's complaint against Weaver averred moving of the barn would destroy a cable and wires cf the company and put about GOO telephones out of commission. Discover Diseases Fifteen cases of trachoma and 302 cases of conjunctivita were discovered in an examination of 4,037 school children of Preble county, according to Dr. Ralph Tate, state board of health, who conducted the examination, assisted by Miss Mary Rwalt, Red Cross nurse for Preble county. To Continue Services Lon Galyean will do night patrolman duty the remainder of the year, according to a decision reached by council. He has held the job temporarily the last few months. Shelton to Speak H. S. Sbelton, of the Johnson-Shel-ton company, Dayton, will be a guest and speaker here Friday evening at a banquet to bo given by the Presbyterian church Brotherhood class in the church. Mr. Shelton recently made a tour of Europe and he will speak upon business conditions in that country and in this country. The speaking feature of th: banquet will be open to the public. Recovers From Fall Councilman John Ernst, of the Ernst Nurseries company, is recovering from injuries sustained when he fell from a horse and struck his head on the hard surface of a roadway. Breaking of the bridle bit was responsible for the mishap.
