OR. M'KANE RELATES TUBERCULOSIS HEEDS IN COUNTY MEETING Need in Wayne county for adequate tuberculosis protection, and the many false methods used in combatting the dreaded disease were aptly illustrated and described by Dr. H. W. McKane, of Indianapolis, director of the tubercolis division of the state board of health, at Hagerstown, Thursday night. Dr. McKane is touring this county in behalf of the state board. He is to f-prak Friday night at Fountain City. Every available seat in the motion picture house used for the meeting place, was taken early Thursday evening, and many persons found it nec
essary to stand during the lecture and! exhibit of pictures carried by Dr. Mc-' Kane as part of his equipment. A motion picture thrown upon the screen had for its lesson the dangerousness of trusting to medicines other than what might be prescribed by physicians. Urges Seal Sale Dr. McKane stressed the need for Red Cross seal sales. He urged their purchase to be placed upon Christmas packages and mail. Proceeds realized from the seal sales is applied toward tuberculosis work. A car is used by Dr. McKane to transport the equipment with which he set forth the facts of the campaign. Posters and literature are distributed, and stereopticon and moving pictures are shown. They portray the proper and improper methods of sanitation and care for those afflicted with tuberculosis.
Lectures are given at public meetings and before students in the schools of the county. Dr. McKane is expecting to spend a day in Richmond soon. He hopes to conduct a clinic.
