Basketball Season Nov, 18 EATON. O.. Nov. 11. Eaton high school -will open the 1921-22 basketball reason here Nov. 18 with a game with Ansonia high school. The locals are now going through a season of practice, under directions of Coach Bob Fisher, who coached the team last season. The local schedule of games has not been fully completed. Chips and Slips When the Newcastle team took the field against the local high school griders Saturday at Newcastle the linemen were clad in red jerseys the same as those worn by the locals, and the backfield were clad in green jerseys. It was the cause of considerable confusion for the Richmond lads, but they slipped over a well earned victory. The reason for having the red jerseys was never learned. When an elbow, vigorously used in debate, hits the edge of a plate of houp. the soup spatters. Also, the tablecloth suffers. It happened at Giesenhelmer's Hungarian restaurant on

the east 6ide of New York, Giesenheimer was mad. He strode to the offender's table. "Ain't you ashamed of yourself? ,AJn't you got no honor? Suppose you

would do such a tning in the Kitz-uari-ton or the Biltmore, what would they tay to you?" "What would they 6ay to me?" repeated the owner of the elbow. "They would say: 'If you want to do such a thing, go down to Giesenheimer's.' " Reverse English. Connie Mack is a squash racquets; coaen. Habe Kuth led the 1921 jockeys. Jack Dempsey is quarterback on the Center eleven. Tex Rickard is pocket billiards champion. He won; the title from Charlie Chaplin. We never heard of Tris Speaker. The prohibition bill was created and written by Congressman Schlitz, of Milwaukee. Wisconsin was virtually eliminated from the conference race, when they were held to a 7 to 7 tie by the Michigan team. Saturday, when the Wolverines invaded the Badgers' territory the first time since 1905. The Badgers were outplayed in every period and were lucky to get an even break. The Kewpies made a good showing in their first game at Newcastle Saturday and should have a very successful season. The team has developed the short passing game which is hara to break up, and will cause all of their opponents much trouble. An invitation has been received by the University of Illinois from Men phis for a game to be played between fh Suckers and a representative Southern football team at Memphis iii-xf season.
