-Tv AssfTatifl Press) COLUMBUS. O., Nov. 7 Two of the three constitutional amendments Ohioans will vote on Tuesday may be classed as taxation measures the adjusted compensation for World war veterans, and the poll tax. The other, rcnatorial redisricting, is held to be of great, importance. A brief analysis of the three propositions follows: Soldiers' adjusted compensation The passage of this amendment will permit the issuance of $23,000,000 bonds. Each person who served in the

World war from Ohio will be given $10 a month, fcr each month in the service, the total not to exceed $250. Provisions of this measure are selfexecuting. Upon the retirement of the bonds, and payment of all claims, sinking fund commissioners are to render a final report to the general assembly and any balance remaining shall be disposed of according to law. Bear Interest. The bonds are to bear 52 per cent interest, and mature in 20 equal semiannual installments, commencing not later than April 1. 1923. There never has been a poll tax in the history of the state, the constitutions of 1S02 and 1851 containing pro

visions against it.

Age oi Black Jersey Cow ?4ust Be Decided by Court Next Week in Damage Case An interesting case w-ill come up in circuit court next Thursday when the suit of Frank Black against Edward Gentry for $100 damages come up for trial. Tn October. 1920, according to a complaint filed by Frank Black at that

time, he purchased a cow of Edward j Gentry, for the sum of $80. The cow j was represented to be eigbt years old j and giving four gallons of milk per day. ! After he had purchasd the cow, he j asserts, he found she was only giving, one gallon per day, and was approxi-! mately 12 years of age. He filed suit j and the case was tried in the coui t . ; of Merton W. Grills, of Jefferson town-;

ship where both parties to the suit reside. Justice Grills found for the df fendant. and Black, dissatisfied, sought solace in circuit court.

Hence it will be the function of the J

court, next Thursday, to decide as to the age of one black jersey cow, and the extent of damage suffered by the complainant through alleged misinterpretation of the defendant. Gentry. Justice Grills, in his accurate summing up of the evidence following the trial in his court, says in his decision: "Dr. Crimp, the careful veterinary, cites the loss of teeth as his reason for thinking the cow of greater age than eight years, but he admits that the loss of teeth is not an infallible rule by which to judge the age of a cow." The court further finds that wltnecses state a change of surroundings and food may and always does change the flow of milk, and that the time required for her to get back to normal varies. Grill decided the costs of the trial were to be paid by Frank Black. They amounted to J31.60.
