SATURDAY'S RECIPES DRAW LARGEST CROWD TO PALLADIUM SCHOOL
With a Saturday's attendance of 1032, making a total of 3186. for four days of the school, the Palladium cooking school closed Saturday with mutual expressions of satisfaction by the participants and those who attended. A steady increase in the number of those who attended was noted from day to day. Practically all who had experienced the benefits of the school last winter wer eregular members or the audience at this one from the start, and. still others flocked in as the news of the institution spread. By the last day, so large had the crowd became that even the single

ORCHESTRA PROGRAM TO APPEAL TO ALL
BELLIS CELEBRATES HIS 94TH BIRTHDAY Edward Bellis, oldest member, of Whitewater lodge of Odd Fellows, and perhaps the oldest member of that order in Indiana, celebrated his 94th birthday at his home here Monday. He was initiated into the lodge on Oct. 12, 1SS5, and still takes an active part in its affairs. He was one of the men who planned and supervised the building of the lodge hall at Eighth and Main street, one of the most valuable pieces of business property in Richmond, and was secretary of the Hall Building association for more than 50 years. He also is the oldest
member of Oriental Encampment, No. 28.
Besides his lodge affiliations, Mr.

Watches Work on Lawn. Mr. Bellis, feeling unusually well
this morning, was directing the raking of leaves in his lawn. "I'd like to do the job myself, but I don't think I had better because I might get a little
dizzy," he told members of his family. A few intimate friends called on Mr. Bellis during the day and found him a cheerful mood and happy. "Sleep, food and rest, each in due time," he said, "is one reason why I have maintained good health and am still active." One of the developments in Indiana that has greatly impressed Mr. Bellis since - his arrival in this city from England in 1848 is the development of the road system in this state. "I have seen the time," he said, "when the mail from the east was carried west on a wagon. With six horses drawing the wagon it was so hard to pull over the roads that the drivers would accept no passengers. It was a good six hours ride from Richmond to Milton. Stage coaches were all the vogue, and I remember during a period of fierce competition that one rode from here to Cincinnati for 50 cents."

Cooked Foods Alone WouldKillYou In a Year
Professor Lumiere, of the Academy In Paris, is authority for the statement. Vitamines, the food element vital to life recently recognized, are largely destroyed by cooking. The raw food most acceptable to the palate is fruit. Oranges will supply whatever lack of vitamines exists in your diet. Most people would use oranges and lemons oftener if they could think of
'different attractive ways to serve them.

Wikolai Sokolof. The appearance of the Cleveland orchestra in Richmond Nov. 8, will be an event of great musical significance. The program has been arranged by the eminent conductor. Nikolai Sokolof, with a great deal of care, and is one which is sure to appeal to musician and layman alike. Mr. Sokolof believes that the object of symphonic bodies should be to spread the interest in orchestral music as broadly as possible and not to play always for the same sophisticated music lovers. In order to do this he has increased the number of his popular concerts thi3 year as well as "his educational concerts given at a small fee in school auditoriums.
