MUHHAY In casting the new Associated Exhibitors' productio n "The Road to London." starring Bryant Washburn,
and which closes at the Murray thea-j
tre Sunday, the star selected his sup-j port with the greatest care. As the photoplay was filmed in and about, London, it was necessary to have English actors in the cast as well as Americans. For his leading lady, Mr. Washburn selected Joan Morgan, a noted English beauty, who has been acting for the screen less than a year. George Foley was chosen to play the role ot the star's father; Glbb McLaughlin is the Viscount, and Saba Raleigh is the Duchess. The Reverend Dr. Eachelor, a noted British clergyman, consented to play the Vicar; Sir Bertram Hays acts in his real capacity of Captain of H. M. S. Olympic and a London bobby is played by a real bloomin' cop. Although Frank Mayo's personal popularity is such that the mention of his name would be enough to fill the Murray Theatre, where he will appear the first half of next week, in his latest Universal photoplay. "The Blazing Trail." he always insists on being surrounded by a splendid company of players. There may be some film stars who cannot stand comparison with good actors in their cast, but Mayo is such a finished artist himself, as well as a perfect physical specimen, that he prefers not to shine by contrast with a weak supporting cast.
MURRETTE What is the noblest kind of love? The question is suggested by the new Betty Compson production closing at the Murrette theatre Saturday night. The picture, "For Those We Love," a Goldwyn release, presents " various
problems that are met by the charac
ters. There is the unrequited love of
a man for a maid, the love of friend for friend, and the forgiving love of a reformed evil character for the man who has always injured him. The story is told so dramatically that each of the various relationships seem as vitally important as the other.

The thirst which the public has had for seeing this popular young comedian again exhibit his boxing prowess is proving a magnet of the first calibre for motion picture fans. The story of John Steel, the character portrayed by Ray, is one o the
most fascinating that baa ever found its way to the screen. ; It la thoroughly human in the development of the plot most of Steel's troubles coming from restrictions a sick mother," who cannot appreciate that her only boy ha3 grown Into man's estate, places on him. The promise exacted from him by her that he will never again indulge in hl3 fondnes3 for boxing, gains him the contempt of hia fellowworkers and later causes his girl to believe that he is a coward. The pitiful position in which he finds himself after losing his Job and afraid to tell hia mother that there is no more money coming in, the opportunity that is held out to him, his
pitifully Inadequate preparation for the battle that is to win Mm the money necessary to Testore his mother to health, all excel anything in the line of pathos that has been Included in screen entertainment lor some time. .Then the big" scenes of the fight furnish' thrills aplenty; and on top of all that coines ; the surprise ending of the play. It Is one of the best productions that Ray has ever made. ' t -
