HARD FOUGHT GAME RESULTS IN VICTORY FOR HAMILTON, 14-7 Completing a spectacular forward pass for the winning touchdown as the final whistle blew, Earlham defeated Hanover 14-7 at Hanover Saturday afternoon. The score was tied until the final seconds of play when Bookout nabbed a forward pass from Ivey and ran 25 yards for the score. It was a fast, hard game at all times. The Hanover eleven was consider ably stronger than that of last year and shoved over a touchdown in the first half. But in the second period the Earlham gridders were working in much better style, and were forcing the play at all times. The work of the line grew stronger as the battle progressed and all the backfield men played a good game. Captain Hinshaw, Ivey, Emslie, Carter, Winslow and Strickler show promise of some classy football in later games. Bookout. at his old left end station, Beasley, center, S. Prevo at guard, Stanley, tackle, and a new man at right end did the best line work. "With ten seconds to play, Ivey launched a forward pass to Bookout, who nabbed it and ran S3 yards for the winning touchdown. , Bookout kicked goal. Final score, Earlham, 14; Hanover, 7.
