(Continued from Page One.) ty for the express purpose and other than a tuberculosis hospital.

was accepted by the county with that understanding. The county through its legal agents have been at work four years getting ready for the erection of the hospital. They have moved buildings and erected new ones. They have secured at much expense a splendid water supply. ! "A good piece of timber has been sold and the money gone into the county treasury. For four years the proceeds from the cultivation of this ' great farm including the production of much Jive stock have gone into the county treasury. Now, to consider for a single moment turning this farm and the $50,000 in bonds back to the generous donors, it seems to me would be moral and legal dishonor, and I do not believe that the county commissioners and county council will ever,

be guilty of such an act." , Still another, contribution from a ', physician who has the experience of j years of practice reads: i "I.arn opposed to the establishment! of a tuberculosis hospital in the pro-1 posed location if it is decided to erect

one. It should be near a railroad on account of the easy access to every-' thing. I am opposed to the estab- j lishment of a general tuberculosis hos-! pltp.l. but would favor a building oC suitable proportion on the poor farm, i lighted and heated by the common J plant. I

Sees Vital Need. "In Richmond alone statistics would ' Justify the assertion that there are at ! least 1,000 persons infected with tu-!

herculosis. Out of our population j

there are several hundred where the ; germ is in an active stage, and to , erect a hospital at a cost of $150,000 , for the purpose of accomodating 25 to j 50 patients and submitting meantime , to the preambulation of 300 or 400 : with tuberculosis in active states, is j the height of folly. t "I would favor the employment ct ! a email number of competent nurses i whose functions it would be to locate j tuberculosis and by visitation, advise '

and general supervision, induce the atlicted to adopt the most approved methods of preventing tuberculosis, and its communication to others."
