WEATHER INSURANCE NOV PURCHASED TO PROTECT PROJECTS

(By Associated Pri) NEW YORK. Aug. 18. The British custom of taking out weather Insurance, has acquired a strong foothold in the United States. Fivemajor league baseball club3 this Eeason have thus safe-guarded themselves on all their Saturday, Sunday and holiday playing dates. while many minor league magnates are similarly protecting their exchequers. More than $1,500,000 was underwritten in rain Insurance for last 4th of July, it is estimated. Fair weath er was general, and less than $100,000 was paid policy holders. Labor Day is expected to break the July Fourth record. Buy $750,000 Worth A British company underwrote a $750,000 rain insurance policy for Tex Rickard as protection against finan cial setbacks which the element might have caused on July 2, the day of the Dempsey-Carpentier bout. The pramium on of this policy was reported to nave been $75,000. Colleges also have begun to insure against rainy Saturdays during the football season, and state and county fairs are likewise taking up the practice. Underwriters report that horse racing promoters and owners of boats used for holiday excursions are their biggest clients. In the winter they insure ice skating rinks on the temperature remaining below freezing. Summer resort hotels insure themselves against bad weather over weekends and department stores do the same thing for days on which they have advertjceri ealas ernvtut In of.

Mothers, did you ever stop to realize the importance of that period in your child's development when his little mind is free to wander over the hills of fancy, and he is finding much difficulty in linking up the real and tha unreal? It is the opportunity time of life and every one of us to whom i3 entrusted the care and development of a little child needs to study and understand it in order that we may make the most of it. All of us are dreamers of dreams, and it Is well that it i3 so, for every worthwhile act that has been given to the world was first a dream in tho mind of some person. Every book that was ever written, every picture painted, every field cultivated." was first just a flight of imaginative fancy. All of us go this far, but it is not enough to dream; we must do as well. The successful person Is the one who thinks over his dreams and organizes his thinking until finally it is no long er a dream but a reality. We grown-ups would give the gold of Midas, were it possible, if we might have developed in us the power of vision .the power to see life imaginatively. Yet our-little tots from three to six have this power to the nth degree, and instead of fostering and organizing it, we do our best to stifle it as a trait not be desired. The seed of genius lies in many of our children, and parents and teachers who do not understand, do their utmost to crush NOT NECESSARY TO TRAVEL . The season is here when many hay fever and asthma sufferers seek relief at health resorts.. Those who remain at home can find relief in Foley's Honev and Tar. Mrs. Alice Holtz. 817 York St., Cincinnati. O.. writes: "Foley's Honey and Tar broke up a bad cougrh and also my hoarseness, and gave me great relief. It is certainly a good remedy." it spreads a ne&ung, sooth ing coating over tickling, irritating membranes, eases cnotcing ana gasp ing. A. G. Luken & Co., 626-628 Main 6L Advertisement W. AMERICAN STUDENTS IN ROME FLY OVER

The picture was taken Just as American art students in Rome alighted from an airship which out the very thing which later they! wish them to have. "But," you say, "if I encourage this, will it not make my child untruthful? Already he juggles the truth in most alarming ways." As mothers and leaders of children, we must be able to distinguish between a flight of fancy and a deliberate attempt to deceive. Fortunately for us the latter cases are very rare. If in doubt ask the child; if it is a flight of fancy he will tell you so. What we need to do is to help the child see his vision clearly and then furnish him with some plastic material with which he can make his dreams come true. Fairy tales are excellent for the imaginative child. He is living in their world and they help explain for him that most inexplicable thing called life. Free hand cutting, clay modeling, and the sand table fur nish material which will enable him not only to see the picture more clearly, but also will lead him to me a doer as well as a dreamer, both of which are necessary. The imaginative period, the opportu nity time, comes but once, so let us make the most of iL WHERE WOMEN ENJOY SPECIAL PRIVILEGES Filipino women always have had in law and custom rights for which the women of more eidightened coun tries have fought for generations, or have recently won.
