Wright Purchases Elevator. Announcement has been received in this city of the purchase by Edwin C. Wright, Greenville attorney, of. the property of the Hartford City Grain and Milling Company, at Hartford City, Indiana. and the Pennsylvania and Lake trie elevators. The present manager of the concern. Mr. M. V. Groves, who has been connected with the company since 1896, "will continue to manage the properties. Many Teachers in Town. Teachers Crom all over the county are thronging local streets this week, during the Darke county teachers institute, which started Monday morning and will close Friday afternoon at the St. Clair memorial hall. Dr. Charles T. Grawn, of Detroit, was the speaker Tuesday morning, using as his subject "What Are Some of the Things You Would Expect to Find In A Mtodel School?" In speaking of the physical conditions that should prevaa in the school room Dr. Grawn stated that where beauty comes in, "mischief goes out." He stresses the point that every child should be kept actively engaged in interesting and worth while work. State superintendent of schools, Vernon M. Reiglft. who was scheduled to speak yesterday, was unable to be present on account of pressing matters demanding his attention at Columbus. Miss Laura-Mengert, of Columbus, was the speaker ia the afternoon.

RANDOLPH TO STAGE -ALL-DAY FARM PICNIC WINCHESTER, Ind., Aug. 17. An all-day picnic will be held by the Randolph county fanners at Goodrich

park, near Winchester, Wednesday, Aug. 24. Arrangements are being made for a big day. The forenoon will be devoted to games of all kinds for old and young, baseball, foot races and tug of war. Miss Helen Thomas, a local graduate of Oberlein college, left' Tuesday on o three-year - trtp to Kaifeng, China, where she wil; teach English literature in a government preparatory school, the largest in Honan province. She will join her sister, Mrs. W. W. Cline, whose husband is a Y. M. C. A- worker in the Chinese city, and expects to return with the Clines in 1924 .when they are due to come home on a furlough.
