known, several applicants took the civil service examination for the postmaster appointment at Eaton. .The time limit for the examination expired Tuesday. . The examination was conducted under the questionnaire plan and transmitted to the proper postal head in Washington. It is understood two or three Democrats took the quizz. The county Republican committee had recommended and endorsed E. E. Bailey, insurance man and party worker, for the postmastership. Dr. W. H. Bucke, Democrat, is the present postmaster. It is not known if he took the examination, just closed. Written examination for the postmaster appointment at Camden, third class office, will be conducted next Saturday. Mariso Asks Citizenship Mike Mariso, 32, Italian, residing on New Paris It. F. D. No. 3, filed his petition, or second papers, for citizen

ship here Tuesday in common pleas court. Mariso's declaration, or first papers, of citizenship, was filed in Richmond, Ind., in September, 1917. He was born at Rocco Raspide, Italy, and came to this county in 1909. He has a wife and one child. picnic will be held by farm bureau members of Union county Saturday,

Aug. 20, in the Bertch grove a half mile west of Liberty on the Browns
