Fifth Anniversary of Omr New Home

921

FIVE YEARS AGO DICKINSON TRUST COMPANY Moved into its beautiful new banking home at the corner of Eighth and Main Sts., which was built for the exclusive use of the bank The building of this new home, at that time, was made necessary because we desired to give our constantly increasing number of clients a modern banking home more centrally located and with increased facilities in all departments, so that we could care for the rapid expansion of our business. The constant and steady growth during this entire period proves conclusively that our friends, patrons and entire community, appreciate the banking home built by us for them and it is source of ever increasing satisfaction and pleasure to the officers of Dickinson Trust Company to see the company's business continue to grow steadily. To just what extent the business of Dickinson Trust Company has increased since occupying its new banking quarters is best told in a few figures which we are pleased to present herewith: Total Resources, 1916 . . . $1,972,925.93 Total Resources, 1921 . . $3,646,740.01 Increase in five years .... $1,673,814.08 Per Cent of Increase in five years over 84 How Our Various Departments Have Grown

Savings Department Five years ago our savings deposits totaled $1,131,600.42, while today they stand at $1,743,900.44, an increase of more than one-half million dollars or 54. It is alr interesting to note that the number of accounts opened in this department increased from 15,237 to 20,570, an average of more than 1,000 new accounts each year. These figures simply tend to emphasize the fact that this institution is increasingly recognized as the "Home for Savings in Richmond." Safety Deposit Department The demand for boxes in our Modern Fire and Burglarproof Safety Deposit Vault, has been so extensive that we have been obliged to make additional installations on two occasions, thereby greatly increasing our ability to care for our clients, the number of boxes now being in excess of 1,300. They vary in size and we charge a nominal rental of $2.50 per year and upward. Hundreds of these boxes are rented by people in rural communities, who realize that the best possible protection for their valuables is always the cheapest. At a cost of less than 1 cent per day, no one who has valuable papers can afford to be without one of these boxes. If you have never seen this "Modern Stronghold," the approximate weight of which is 45 tons, come in and let us show it to you.

Checking Department Since moving into our new home no department has grown more rapidly than our commercial department where our checking accounts are handled. From the modest sum of $275,815.27 these deposits have grown steadily to over $800,000.00, or more than three times greater than they were five years ago. We have accounts today in this department with men and women in almost every walk of life ; persons who appreciate the advantages of doing business with a bank that is interested in the business and success of its customers and where service means more than the term ordinarily implies. Our steady growth in deposits is the best proof of our satisfactory service to our patrons and their belief in our strength.

We doubt very much whether any bank in the State of Indiana can show a larger or more satisfactory growth during the same period.

Trust Department "r That the public appreciates the superior service rendered by a strong trust company in the handling of all classes of trusts, is evidenced by the number of new appointments which continue to come to us from individuals who are seeking the best possible service of this character. To just what extent this department has grown in recent years we cite the fact that at the present time we hold more than a million dollars in property and securities for the benefit of the various estates under our care and supervision. Our trust officer will always be glad to confer with you in regard to matters relating to this department. Investment Department The volume of securities handled through our investment department during the past five years has been by far the largest in the history of our Company. The investment business of Dickinson Trust Company dates back to the year 1870, when from only a few clients the number of new investors has grown steadily until today we are serving more than a thousand persons in this department. The fact that this business was established more than half a century ago, has given to us the widest experience of any bank in Wayne County in the handling of investments. It is also interesting to note that not a single dollar of loss has ever been sustained by any of our investors through investments purchased from us. Our investment department offers a character of service highly appreciated by the conservative investor. ... .

It has always been the policy of Dickinson Trust Company to strive to meet the individual ideas and ideals of its customers in a broad-minded appreciative sense of its duty to be constructive as well as progressive in the daily routine of business. , Satisfactorily meeting the individual requirements of each customer is one of the principal reasons we believe, for the remarkable progress and success of this institution, reflected by the foregoing comparisons showing our splendid growth during the past five years. Every department of our bank is placed at the disposal of our friends and customers and our officers will always take pleasure in rendering every possible service where assistance is needed in solving financial problems. We not only have the inclination but also the equipment and facilities to serve you properly, and if you are not now numbered among our constantly increasing number of clients, we most cordially invite you to become a patron of this bank.
