COLUMBUS, Kansas, July 8. Alexander Howat and August Dorcby. president and vice-president of the Kansas Miners' union were sentenced to serve six months in jail and to pay a fine of $500 by Judge Frank W. Boss in the Cherokee county district court here today. Howat and Dorchy were convicted last week of violation of the Kansas industrial law by calling a strike.
