Murfth Davis, asking for divorce and custody of th?ir minor children. City Council Meets. A recess meeting of the Greenville city council was held Monday night, with all members present, and at which time several matters of interest were taken up. The two propositions submitted by the Jantha Light and Fuel company, asking for a raise in rates, which were submitted at a retent meeting, were rejected after due consideration by the council. An ordinance was passed authorizing the oiling of streets in eight districts in this city, after which council adjourned, and will meet again Monday, June 27. Gambiers Under Arrest. Seven gamblers, arrested late Sunday, were lodged in the jail until Tuesday, by Sheriff Joel Wagner, upon complaint of Robert Parker, who alleged he had lost all his money in the game, and was then "beaten up" by the players. Sheriff Wagner made the arrest at the "Little Monte Carlo." located in the Hulnagle Woods, south of Greenville, where it is stated that
