"Boys are only permitted to go in
at stated periods and in charge of competent instructors.
No Danger of Disease. "The danger of contracting disease is almost entirely eliminated from
contaminated water by the fact that
it is going through a constant Alteration process. No one is allowed to go in the pool without first taking a soap
loath. All bathers are required to go
in the pool naked in order that skin diseases may be detected and others protected. Bathing suits are not used. "The danger from exposure is also eliminated. Boys are not allowed to stay in the water undue lengths of time. The water is kept at a good temperature pnd dressing rooms comfortable. "The danger from association with the uncontrolled element and the gang that is found in unsupervised places is also eliminated. l a ... a : I
j "There are clean, competent men, vitally interested in character develj opment of boys, in charge at the a&
sociation, and who are competent to
assist parents in solving the boy problem for parents by directing the leisure hour and their sports during the vacation period. "Vacation time is at hand, a summer schedule has been carefully worked out, a boys' secretary giving his entime time exclusively to boys' activities, a physical director to instruct in athletics and games and a Red Cross life saver for expert swimming instruction should be sufficient reason why parents should have their boys enrolled in the boys' department of the V. M. C. A. at the very beginning of the vacation period. "Any parent interested will have a cordial reception and be gladly shown through the building should they wish to call and get further information."
