EASTHAVEN HOSPITAL IMPROVEMENTS WILL CARE FOR EXPANSION The Eastern Indiana Hospital for the Insane will get new cottages for its patients, farm buildings, and farm equipments, and othar improvements, approximating $73,000 from its specific funds, appropriated by the legislature, according to the plan of Governor McCray. Equalization of capacity on the basis of accomodations for about 1.200 patients at each of the state institutions for the insane is provided for in the governor's policy. The wards will be much better off, the governor says, for their housing in the different institutions of the state which have extensive farm lands, because their general health and mental Hate will be improved. Their useful and produtive labor on the farms will make them of more value to the state. Expansion Provided. The equalization probably will mean that the local institution will receive patients from the Central h' "al at Indianapolis to adjust the Ind.. apolis institution to the new scheme. The $500,000 placed in Governor McCray's hands by the last legislature for the development of the four outstate institutions will be. distributed among them. Plans and specifications are being made which should be ready for approval in the near future for the expenditure of the entire fund.
