MURRAY , "It Can Be Done" is the title of the Earle Williams production which is being shown at Murray theatre. The stir appears as an author, who is "accused of writing wildly improbable Stories that his critics claim could never happen in real life. The author proveB that such action can and does happen, for he actually lives the story 'to the satisfaction of his readers. There are many melodramatic scene3 and startling pieces of action. MURRETTE "Peck's Bad Boy," at the Murrette theatre next week seems to be very nearly al! Jackie Coogan. Those who saw this remarkable child with Charlie Chaplin in "The Kid," and realized then the future he had before him, can not fail to be impressed with his work as the bad boy. We think that the boy of the stories must not hav been over' five years old. for no child of that age but Jackie Coogan could think of such diabolically clever tricks.

the memories of his youth, "Peck's

Bad Boy" will prove as enjoyable an hour and a half's entertainment as has been furnished by a cinema recently. To. us it seemed a better juvenile portrayal than "The Ole Skimmin' Hole," because Jackie Coogan is a child and not a grownup acting as one, and because he is Jackie Coogan. Little Henry Peck, the town's shadiest character, and his dog, who also is an exceedingly clever actor, start off the picture in fine shape with an experiment-on a circus and circus lions. Most of the tricks that he does and the mixture of childish innocence and crafty cuaning that is on his countenance when he is in the midst of these schemes makes him screamingly funny to us. A cast that includes some well known names ?.nd faces has been se lected to support Master Coogan. Doris May, of the clever MacLean-May

comedy team which made many enjoyable films before its recent split, is Jackie's older sister. Wheeler Oakman is the doctor. Irvin S. Cobb furnishes the titles for "Peck's Bad Boy." MURRAY VAUDEVILLE Headlining the bill opening Monday matinee for the first half at the Murray, comes George Dameral who created the, part of the Prince in the original '"Merry "Widow" company, with. Miss Myrtle Vail and Miss Opal Elliott, in their musical satire written bv Jack Lait, entitled "The Sixth Reel."-' ' " ' Jack Lait, the author of the new playlet is the famous short story star and plavwright who wrote "Help Wanted," "Scarlet and White," and motion picture scenarios and vaudeville act3 for many of the foremost notables of the stage. His pen has

made headliners. Also on this bill i3 Aurora and company, who offer the standard opera selections as well as the popular. In a beautiful scene, descriptive of n Doge's palace on the Grand Canal in Venice, which makes a most artistic and fitting background, this aggregation of splendid vocal entertainers present their extraordinary meritorious operatic selections. Completing the bill is Bob Milliken, who was featured this season in th musical comedy "Broadway Brevi

ties," while Will Rogers' will be seen upon" the screen in his new five-reel 1

comedy feature "Honest Hutch." The following is a brief synopsis' of the headline act opening Thursday for the last half: "A Tale of Three Cities," Is the rather unique but nevertheless appropriate title of a most bewitchingly pretty and delightfully artistic entertaining number presented by Maurice

L. Greenwald, a producer, famous for his" contributions to the ' world of

vaudeville.

On this bill also are booked Carleton and Bellew, the best comedy team in

vaudeville; Zemater and Smith, comedy horizontal bar artists, and Harry Carey on the screen in "The FreezeOut," his latest feature. Owing to the cost of these vaudeville features, and the length of the playing time, six acts will be offered next week.

WOLF HUNTING CHIEF

DIVERSION OF LENINE; PRIVATE LIFE SIMPLE

CBy Associated Press) REVAL, Esthonia, June 11 Nikolai

Lenine, head of the Russian Bolshevik government, has recently developed a liking for wolf hunting. According to

recent arrivals from Moscow, Lenine, in company with Krilenko, one of ths Red army leaders, has just returned

from a wolf drive at Zabidovo. Those who know Lenine most inti

mately declare that despite the num

erous crises through which he has had to lead the Bolshevik regime, he

is still perhaps the "most cheerful man in Russia." He preserves his continual good humor by shielding himself closely from detailed work when in his office at the Kremlin, devoting his time to the big problems of government and to the preparation of speeches and pamphlets in which he advocates numerous changes from his old strict communistic policy. Read Many Novels. Between labor hours when in his office he-reads novels and socialistic

The Home Garden

Where the peach crop is a complete ailure, many growers are taking advantage of the "off year" to cut back or rejuvenate tall trees by rather heavy pruning. "Trees can now be cut back without loss of crop. The scaffold limbs are thus strengthened and the bearing surface lowered to a more convenient height for subsequent crops," according to F. H. Beach, extension horticulturist at the Ohio State university. "Trees which have sound trunks and main scafTold limbs," he says, "will respond to rejuvenation pruning.

Where these vital parts are in poor condition such pruning will probably

not pay and replacing with young

trees is a better practice. Rejuvena-

works by foreign authors in the original French, English and German, and also keeps in touch with the principal works on other subjects. It is said that he continues to live simply, in striking contrast to a number of minor Bolshevik officials who occupy luxurious quarters. Lenine and his wife have only a few rooms. Mrs. Lenine, say those who know her, disagrees quite strongly with her husband on many political subjects, being more of the social revolutionist type,-advocating slower changes than Lenine's communism. However, it i3 said they get along splendidly.
