Chips and Slips I Sport Writers in the east have had -i good chance to exercise their wit anJ sarcasm in commenting on th1 secret training of Georges Carpentier, "the (air haired boy from France," as ho is called. The man-killing arms of Jack Dempsey and the powerful, lightning-like legs of Georges Carpentier. Sport scribes who have seen Georges Carpentier in action are agreed on one thing at least. That is the French aspirant to the world's heavyweight title hat the greatest pair of legs a boxer ever wore. "Super-legs" the experts are calling them. Carpentier's legs are built like those of a Greek god. With them he glides and springs about the ring with a grace and speed of a tiger. They are the main spring in his catapult form of attack. It will be a case of Carpentier's legs vs. Jack Dempsey's massive, piledriving arms wl;n the paL- meet. Carpentier devotes much of his training hours to keepirg his legs in condition. Dempsey, on the other mitt, pays particular attention to his walloping arms. If the bout lasts long nough to be interesting the comparative styles of fighting will giv the fans dope for some t".p to come.

Thirty-one hits were collected by the two teams during the contest which was called after five innings of play.
