A" PRETTY PROFILE. In talking about the profile and the possible measure that might be taken to improve it, we have emphasized such things as changing the style of hair dressing se as to adapt it to the face, and keeping the skin fine and clear with color in the cheeks. Color plays an enormous part in making the profile nice looking or ordinary, since it gives a becoming roundness and softness to-, the side face. - But one point we have never talked about to any extent, is the very great importance of holding the head well. The profile is not only forehead, nose and chin it is also the top of the head and the line of the back of the head, .which can make or mar one's whole appearance, and the line running down the back of the neck. The shape of the head can always be modified or altered by the way the hair is combed, and a flat line rounded by placing the knot of hair at the most becoming .point. Thene are things to be studied out carefully with the aid of a..cbuple of mirrors. For the chin line is good or bad according to the way the head is held. Hold it high not" stiffly high but easily, naturally high. The chin should be up and out a trifle. This again is a matter to be studied with the aid of a couple of mirrors, for over-emphasis is apt to look ridiculous and the difference between that and real grace is as slight as.it is important. A good plan i to hold the chest as high as possible. This draws back the shoulders, gives a good line down the .back of the neck, and helps throw the head into position.

.T. E. M. Lemon juice and baking soda will do to keep your daughter's hair light'. Two tablespoonsful of the juice, one-third of a teaspoonful of soda, to a quart of water, used as the final rin.e after the - shampoo. Hot crude Oil massaged into the scalp the Eight before the shampoo, will correct this dry condiiion, which is causing those flakes through the hair. P. E. ' DearMrs. Thompson: -I ant 16 years of age. I like two boys and I can't decide wiicn one I like better. They usod to come un to my house every night and I know they liked me very well. Lately they don't coma near my bouse. I am vry much worried - because I hate to hurt anyone's feelings. Do you thing I have hurt their feelings or do you thing they are tired of me? They speak so nioely to me when I see them, but still they never come up. I am very lonesome for them and I would be very grateful to you if vou would tell me what is the matter with them. LONESOME SUE. Tour story is like the story of almost any girl of your age. Boys come and then without an apparent reason they osase to come. They have grown tired as a rule and have found a new interest. Do not let this discourage you because it happens to all, and is a blessing in disguise. If young men

were not so fickle there would be many more disastrous marriages from too early marriage. You are a very young girl and should not think of love and sweethearts any more than you can help When you are old qnough you will i nd that love Is steadfast and loyal and that some man finds you more interesting all the time and does not grow tired. Keep yourself clean and sweet so that you will feel worthy when the one man comes. Dear Mrs. Thompson: I am a girl IS and I keep company with a boy 21. His family doesn't like me very well and does not approve of my going with bim. Should I quit him on account of his family? BLUE EYES. Both you and the boy are of age. It seems to me that the matter should be decided by the young man himself. If he lives and respects you, accept his friendship. Respect yourself enough so that you feel worthy of the young man in spite of the attitude of his parents.
