EARLHAM ATHLETES EXPECT STIFF FIGHT WITH DEPAUW TEAM Earlham tract athletes will depart Saturday morning early for Greencastle, where they will meet thi 'Dfr Pauw thinly clads in the fourth dual meet of the season Saturday afternoon..
Mowe's hopefuls expect a stiff battle
fro mthe tigers as they are known to be especially strong in Borne events, but the Quakers claim to have the best balanced team ever turned out by the Richmond institution and will
make a strong effort to keep up their
record of no defeats for the season. Quakers Lost Last Year Coach Mowe predicts that it will be
a close tussle and that it may take the
last few events to decide the meet. Last year the Quakers were defeated by DePauw by a close margin but this defeat oan be explained by the injury to Carey early in the meet, who fell while pole vaulting, DePauw is strong in the dashes, hurdles, and in the middle distance events. Kady and Zekiels in the half and quarter mile runs form a pair of speedsters that are hard to equal. The Earlham team which has thus far been undefeated, anticipates some strong competition from the Greencastle quarter milers. It is probable that the same men will make the trip that humbled Kalamazoo last week. There is a possibility that Lawler will not be in shape for the meet and in this case Beck will be called upon to run the hurdles.
