MAIL CARRIER'S CAR IN CROSSING CRASH ON EATON TRACKS EATON O., April 19. Earl Kinsey, rural mail carrier narrowly escaped serious injury fonday afternoon when an automobile he was driving was struck by a cut of cars attached to a Pennsylvania freight engine that was being switched across the East Somen street ' crossing, at the plant ol the Eaton Milling company. .... Kinsey e?capea with a slightly lacerated , hand. : The rear wheels were torn off the automobile and the rear of the car was considerably damaged. . The freight engine was in the rear of the cut of boxcars and probably was responsible for the accident. Kinsey was going eastward and the engine and cut of cars were going north. It is said the alarm bell at the crossing was ringing at the time the accident happened. Chamberlain Gets Judgment. Judgment for $233.40 on a note was awarded Brooke Chamberlain against Warren M. Eby. Monday, in common pleas court. A taortgage securing the note will be foreclosed if the judgment is not paid within five days. Compromise was effected in a suit brought by the Eaton Loan and Home Aid company against Perry R. Garland and the case was dismissed Monday from common pleas court A note for $362, secured by mortgage, was involved. Deed and distribution has been ordered in confmon pleas court in a partition suit brought by C. E. Morlatt against Helena Klopp and others. JilorIat having taken the property involved at its appraised value. Gilmore Case Delayed. . At this time it is not definitely known ir all records in the Craig Gilmore case can be completed in time for presentation of the case to the court of appeals, which will convene here Thursday and probably be in session over Friday. Counsel in th3 Case say there is a srreat mass of typing to be done and for this reason it is problematic as to getting the case before the court during its .session here. Other cases scheduled for presentation to the court of appeals at its sea- . sion here are William Mills and R. L. Estis, plaintiffs in error, vs. State of Ohio, defendant in error; Freddie Lock and J. W. Shirley, plaintiffs, vs. Preble County Board of Education, delendant. appeal; J. E. Flora and I. M. Biddinger, plaintiffs, vs. Preble County Board of Education, defendant, appeal; James F. Pierce, plaintiff, vs. George Pottenger, defendant, appeal.

No. Men were religious before there were creeds or denominations. Man's feelings and thoughts about God, and bis conduct In - relation to God, that is religion. Religion is the whole man in relation to God. "The school, home and church are the three things In America responsible for the development of our religion. I do not think it is the function of the public school to give definite religions instruction. The Sunday school and the public school should throw some responsibility, upon . the home. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Contrary to the home of 50 years ago, the home of today has got to- be but a cheap tavern ; a place where we go to sleep and for our meals. With the home not giving this training it is up to the church. If the church fails the child is not going to get it. "Your problem is not to get people to church; it is to hold them, and that has to be done by trained teachers. Train your teachers. Consecration to the work and preparation for the work should be the motto of every Sunday school teacher. He is the dynamo of the school." Bradford Harrison presided. Oliver Nusbaura led the congregational singing. The Rev. E. Howard Brown led the devotional services. Mrs. F. W. Kreuger sang a solo. Would Pool Interests Pooling of Sunday school interests, instead of competitive activities, was the theme of an address given in the First English Lutheran church by E. T. Albertson, State Sunday school association secretary, Monday afternoon. He spoke in place of Dr. M. A. Honline, who is conducting a series of religious educational lectures under auspices of the City Sunday school association. Illness of Dr. Honline's wife caused his absence from one meeting. Outlining the state plan for Sunday school work in Indiana, Mr. Albertson told of the departments in Sunday school work which the state organization believes should be developed. Among them he mentioned the cradle 10II, religious education in the schools, story hours for children, a young people's council, home worship, administrative superintendents whose duty would be to definitely . plan and prepare Sunday school programs, vacation Bible schools, week day schools teaching religion and community training schools for the preparation of persons for Sunday school teachers and leaders. Explains Program. Explaining why the Btate program includes so wide and complete a program Mr. Albertson Faid: "In this country we are doing everything in every name except In the name of the church of Jesus Christ. Our children are getting the idea that everything else is bigger than the church. We are convinced that children should learn to live and to play according to the Bible. Practically 69

"The reason you took the other man out was because" the other man voted for BaTis," Mr. Walterman said. The mayor retaliated by saying, "All that Mr. Walterman 'has just said is a falsehood." George Coughlin, assistant for the J. D. Lyon consulting engineers, stated that the reason Mr. Jefferies had been asked for his resignation was because he had failed to grow with the plant and that he believed that the plant was too big for the capacity of Mr. Jeffries.
