The state's share of the cost of brick will be $171,873.79. The contract will call for completion of the job by December 1, 1921. The roadway will have a width of 16 feet, with six-inch curb on either side. The improvement will begin a short distance to the. north of the old Valley House railway crossing and extend south to the north corporate limits of the village of Camden.

Sunday schools of this township will hold their annual convention at the Methodist church. At this time also a wireless telephone demonstration will be given. Complete information about both of the above items will be given in next week's announcements.

FIND COOK GUILTY OF MAKING RYE WHISKY

Floyd Cook, 320 Lincoln street was found guilty of manufacturing rye whisky, following a jury trial in Wayne circuit court Thursday after 45 minutes deliberation. Attorney Frank Strayer, appearing for Cook, stated that he would file a motion for a new trial and appeal the case. Cook was fined $100 and costs, and sentenced to 30 days at the state penal farm. Cook was arrested several weeks ago when police made a raid on his home on Lincoln street and found the largest still yet captured in Richmond. This still was introduced as testimony in the trial Thursday. It was composed of a large 50 gallon tank, a five burner oil stove, large mash container and a small cooler. Officers making the raid stated that about 250 gallons of mash were found at the house. The defense contended that no whisky had been manufactured by Cook, although Cook admitted that his intentions were to manufacture contra-

EXPLOSION ON FREIGHTER TERRE HAUTE -KILLS TWO

BUENOS AIRES, April 15. An ex-

plosion on the American freight steamer Terre Haute at her pier here, killed two stevedores. Six men were seriously injured, including three of the

crew of the steamer. The men were engaged in unloading the Terre Haute. The explosion is believed to have been due to the accidental ignition of gasoline. The material damage to the vessel was not serious.
