This Is the sort of town . seen In the movies. With a population of more than 20,000, there is- not a square foot of pavement on any street and only three or four buildings more than one story high. There are 2,800 oil rigs, on the town site and In the immediate vicinity. One well right in the center of the town Just across the street from the little cafeteria where the players had luncheon has already turned in for its lucky owner more than a million dollars and is still going strong. Cordial Reception. The citizens gave the team the most cordial reception it has received any where in Texas. The players came over from Cisco early in the morning and were met at the station by the officials from an oil company. The boys were piled into touring cars and taken through the oil fields where they were given a clear insight into the methods of drilling and controlling the flow of the golden grease. There was intense disappointment because of the muddy condition of the playing field preventing the game. Manager Moran refused to risk the lives and limbs of his valuable athletes on the soft gound. The team returned to Cisco early te the evening and will x wind up its training there with the strong Dallas team of the Texas league which defeated the Cleveland Indians last week. There will be morning practice Thursday and Friday morning with a game each afternoon and on Friday night the team will bid goodbve to the chamber of commerce and will start on their two weeks' barnstorming trip which finally will land them on their homo lot.
