COUfiOOOTES TO ENFORCE ORDINANCE ON PARKING AUTOS "Who will try tne mayor?" is a question to come up fcnortly according to statement in council meeting Monday evening and the Judging by the determined altitude of the council as manifested in the passing of a resolution to enforce the north and south street parking ordinance recently parsed. A large share of the council meeting was taken up with a discussion of the enforcement of the ordinance. The discussion started with the Introduction of a resolution to enforce the ordinance. Standing on statements made on several past occasions. Mayor Zimmerman said that he would continue to park his car on the -west side of the street, in front of his residence, ordinance or no ordinance. Status in Doubt. . The taw provides that all violations of city ordinances must be tried In the city court As the mayor would preside over this court ordinarily, his exact status is in doubt. City Attorney Reller when asked about the matter Monday evening, said he would cross that bridge wtien he came to it. A wordy battle between Councilman Ford and the mayor occurred when the former spoke in behalf of the enforcement resolution. He said "Any man who is a good citizen, and wants to comply with the law ought to have civic pride enough to eiforoe the law even if it does compel him to cross the street to reach his car." "I expect Jthat man is jurat as Rood a citizen, and tax payer, and had his tax receipts in as good sliape before and after he took office as the man who Just left the floor," said the Mayor. Will Try It Out "We wUtry this ordinance out in h court ) he said a moment later following' le putting of the qnuestlon and pasef g of the resolution. WASHINGTON After two smashing months at the ' iymnic Theatre in Chicago, where ne show was the toast and talk of he town, the Fanehon and Marco "Sa-

The attraction has the stamp of approval of San Francisco, as far as the far, far west is concerned; it has also the approval of Denver, and now the Chicago verdict seems to prove that the only laurels yet to be won are those of New York. VICTORY THEATRE, DAYTON It is surely not an exaggeration to class "Apple Bloseoms" the famous musical comedy which Charles Dillingham will present at the Victory Theatre, Dayton, for three nights and a Saturday matinee, starting Thursday night March 31, as the most important and attractive theatrical offering of the year. Mr. Dillingham sends the original production to Dayton in its entirety and the same distinguished players in the leading roles who were identified with it during its entire season's run at the fashionable Globe Theatre In New York. The composers axe Fritz Krelttler, the eminent violin virtuose and Victor Jacobi, the composer of many popular scores includ

ing "The Half Moon" and "Sybil." The

really notable company supplied by

Mr. Dillingham for the interpretation of "Apple Blissoms" includes John

Indigestion, Acidity, Sourness and Gases ended with "Pape's Dfapepsin"

It has a plot, has any number of new features besides the plot. Jean Havez, who on several occasions wrote the book for "The Follies," is the author of the story, and Fanchon and Marco have taken it, as a thread upon which to string brilliant lyrice and melodies like bright beads in a necklace. The result is that the book, the lyrics and the, melodies combine to make an ensemble that is pleasing in every respect. As for the chorus, it is composed of two dozen very pretty girls, with fresh California complexions which have earned for them the names of "peaches." They sing well and dancu well, and the background is rich and costly. The costuming is original as well as elaborate. MURRETTE Bobby Vernon, who is the featured plaj-er in "Back From the Front." tlie latest of the two-reel Christie Comedies which comes to the Murrette theatre Wednesday, is one of the oldest of the Christie playc-rs in point of service, yet he has just passed tho twenty-third milepost. Vernon, who is a Chicago boy, started his stage career at the ae of eleven and he was still in his 'teens when he got his first real opportunity to attract attention. - This was while he was appearing with Kolb and Dill in San Francisco. Max Dill was injured and Vernon took hia place, with such success jthat he was quickly made attractive offers by fl'm companies. He was only nxtaen when lie made Lis first film appearance and has been with Christie now nearly thre years. He ha npneared in more than fifty single reel comedies but when the

Each of the four acts is a credit to any stage. Harvey Hooper, the rube in Stone and Hays' comedy sketch, has returned and met the Richmond theater goers, and they are his. Playing the country greenhorn, with due amount of bashfulness, yet a desire to appear "hard" in the eyes of the" young lady conducting a carnival concession, Harvey Is beyond criticism. There is nothing of the slap-stick in his comedy; it comes clean, and It goes across big. There have been several bills during the past, year in which posing was included. All were very good, but we hadn't seen "A Sculptors Garden," presented this week. The young ladies in this act are as rigid as the marble and bronze they represent, until the flnal pose. Two girls, Hildegarde, Lachman, on last, please wdth, their songs and internetations. An imitation of Fanny
