Chaffee, secretary-manager of the Chamber, was greatly please at the attendance of 103 of the 146 captains and team workers, at the instruction meeting held. Wednesday night. "I have conducted similar campaigns for civic-commercial organizations in a large number of cities throughout the country," he said. "In all of these campaigns it has been my experience that the real barometer of actual interest and success in the campaigns is the first meeting of the teams." Brief talks were made at Wednesday night's meeting by Mrs. A. W. Roach, J. A. Brookbank and Walker E. Land. Mr. Chaffee outlined instructions. He represented the oldest independent European state and the smallest at the ceremonies. Practically all nations on earth were represented by their diplomatic representatives, resident and special, but this was the first time the. republic of San .Marino, was ever represented at an inauguration. Dr. Holm was dent from New York to Washington as envoy extraordinary.

POSTOFFICE REPAIRS NEAR COMPLETION Work on the improvement of the postofflce are rapidly nearly completion, according to Postmaster Beck, of the local office. The work has been somewhat delayed because of material tjotr arriving and several things having to be changed. With the arrival of the delayed material and the corrections made, it is thought the work will be completed in about two weeks. Last year the local postoffice supplied the postoffices of this county with ttamps and they were counted in with the sales of the Richmond office.
