FORMER EDITOR OF VERSAILLES PAPER DIES AT HOME THERE WINCHESTER, O., March 9. Exeditor D. W. K. Martin, of the Versailles, O., Policy. i dead at his home. In that village. Mr. Martin was past 70 years of age and for S7 years ran the Policy wnich he sold a few months ago to a stock company. He was an able writer and had a large circle of friends. He is survived by the widow and nine children. Kiwanis Does Relief Work. The Kiwanis club of this city is making every effort to secure work for the unemployed In the city. A relief bureau has been established with headquarters at the Harry H. Oliver store. . . Silvers Loses Suit. ' The Jury in the case of Isaac M. Borror vs. Lonnie Silvers on account, found for the plaintiff and required Silvers to refund $433.53. At a public sale. Borror purchased of Silvers 1,200 bushels of corn and gave note for same in payment. Silvers alleges the corn was under measure and the amount the court requires Silvers to , refund is for the corn Borror did not ret. Mrs. Eliza Martin has returned from Fort Smith, Ark., where she spent the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Wortz. Miss Dorothy Rowe, who is in Red Cross work, in the state of Washington, has been called home because of the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. Harry Rowe. The Tri Kappa sorority held a meeting at the home of Miss Helen Gordon. Monday evening. The following officers were elected: President, Miss Jennie Jessup; vicepresident. Miss Mary Bales : "recording eecretary, Miss Mary Brown. Union City women of the Federated Missionary societies of that city, have raised $1,000 as the city's share, In the campaign for the Chinese Relief fund. The case of Chalmer Rickert vs. Samuel Rickert, tenant and landlord, has been continued. The attorneys were ordered by the court to present briefs within the next 10 days. Chamler Rickert, who was a farm tenant of his uncle, Samuel Rickert, filed suit against him for his interest In a nhnnrn frnn. The Uncle alleged
that his land was damaged by the
plaintiff's allowing cattle to run at large and refused to make the settlement asked for by the nephew. John W. Current. 75, is dead at his home north of Parker. Prominent Kiwanian to Speak Tomorrow Charles E. : Hutchins, . of Marion, chairman of the Indiana delegation which is to go to the international Kiwanis convention to be held in
Cleveland, O.. in June, will be the-
principal speaker at the meeting at noon Thursday. Mr. Hutchins was formerly secretary of the Indiana district of Kiwanis clubs. It is believed that his talk will cenabout the convention. Two local
delegates will be selected to represent
the Richmond club. The meeting Thursday will be the first one at which the attendance will count toward winning an attendance trophy in a three months' contest staged by the international association. Presentation of the trophy will be made to the winning club at the Cleveland convention. Earl Daffler is chairman of the day for Thursday's meeting, and it is said that musical features will be offered.
