things stand out prominently as legislative tasks for the week when resumption of activity, in the Ohio General Assembly is considered. One Is the beginning of the long-delayed Highway Department inquiry, which, thus far, has been an affair of star chamber sessions. There are to be hearings on the reorganization bill submitted by Governor Harry L. Davis to the General Assembly. Davis Measure Opposed. It has developed that numerous friends of the administration wish him

to drop the matter entirely as being the product of persons alien to Ohio End possessing little knowledge as to

what the Buckeye state public desires

The Governor's opponents, as late as Saturday, did not think that any truce

would be reached .between the factions. They gave out information that at the proper time they would make public, the figures as to the cost of the additional bureau and .department chiefs that will be added to the public payroll by reason of the reorganisation proposal. They also stated that in Illinois, which is taken for a model, the actual expenses had increased $11,000,000 in a year of the state government under !he reorganization plan, and that the voters of the state were for from satisfeid with it. The per capita expenses increased far more than in Ohio and other states have not experienced change in state government, it was stated. Of greatest importance of propositions to be taken up this week is the taxation issue. The Citizens' Comniit(ee named by Governor Davis is expected to give final approval to the

I.' compromise plan, contemplating real vlj estate, income, inheritance and fran

chise taxes. The forces that still uphold the uniform rule contend that they have been gaining in sentiment, notwithstanding the agreement of the committee. It is understood to be their purpose

portion of the public debt, which now exceeds half a billion dollars. s It was voted' upon the taxing , districts largely by the voters themselves, but often by a minority of those who actually went to the polls and almost always by a pitifully small minority in contrast to the aggregate number of voters. .

A Gift A 10-Day Tube of Pepsodent is sent to all who ask. See coupon.

Make This Test Watch how your teeth respond

This ten-day test hai shown to millions the way to whiter, safer teeth. It is a free test you should make it- No other method known can do what Pepsodent does for teeth. To end the film The object is to fight the film, which dims the teeth and causes most tooth troubles. Dental science has worked years to do that. Film is that viscous coat you feel." It clings to teeth, ent-rs crevices and stays. The ordinary tooth paste does not combat it satisfactorily, so brushing leaves much of it intact. It is the film-coat that discolors, not the teethFilm is the basis of tartar. It holds food substance which ferments and forms acid. It holds the acid in contact with the teeth to cause decay. Millions of germs breed in it. They, with tartar, are the chief cause of pyorrhea. Thus all these troubles have been constantly increasing, despite the tooth brush. How we combat it Dental science, after years of searching, has found ways to combat film. High authorities have proved them by clinical and laboratory tests. ' The best dental opinion now approves these methods. Leading dentists everywhere are urging

their adoption. Minions of people, as a result, now employ them daily. The methods are combined in a dentifrice called Pepsodent. And a 10-Day Tube is offered free, so all who will may quickly know how much it .means to them. Five mnch desired effects One ingredient of Pepsodent is pepsin. Another multiplies the starch digestant in the saliva to digest the starch deposits which ding and form acid. It also multiplies the alkalinity of the safiva, to neutralize the acids which cause tooth decay. Two factors directly attack the firm. One of them keeps teeth so highly polished that film cannot easily adhere. Pepsodent combines the best that modern science knows to combat the great tooth destroyers. It has brought a new era in teeth cleaning. Watch it act Send the coupon for a 10-Day Tube. Note how clean the teeth feel after using. Mark the absence of the viscous film. See how teeth whiten as the film-coat disappears. You wQl see several new effects, and the book we send will tell you what they mean. This is too important to forget. Cut out the coupon now.
