Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Sayler, 83, of Eaton, who died Sunday looming at the home of her son. James L. Sayler, in Chicago, were conducted here this morning in the Christian church by the Rev. Hiley Baker, followed by buriet at Gratis. Mrs. Sayler had been visiting ia Chicago since last November. She was the widow of the late James Sayler, real estate and loan man, who died here a number of years ago. Her maiden name was Kislfng. Dies After Long Illness. - Isaac Hickman, about 60 years old, unmarried, died Monday afternoon at his home here, in the vicinity of the municipal waterworks station. He had Ibeen ill some time. COURT AT NEWCASTLE NEWCASTLE, Ind., March 1 Jesse Richardson, of Cambridge City, who was arrested for alleged illegal possession of intoxicating liquor here last Friday, was sentenced to 60 days at the state penal farm and given $100 fine in Newcastle police court Monday afternoon. Richardson was arrested with a party of six others, five stating their homes were in Richmond. They gave their names as Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wy-

mans, William Ketter, Edna Ireton and Violet Morton, it is said. The other five were released, Richardson taking the responsibility for all. Find Six Quarts The party was picked up by officers who had . been tipped oft that Richardson was connected with a "bootlegging" gang and would be in Newcastle Friday afternoon. Six , quarts of liquor, one pint bottle and an empty bottle were said to have been in his possession. v Richardson appeared before a session of the grand jury Monday morning. The testimony given by him at the session could not be learned Tuesday morning. Jesse J. Richardson, who was sentenced to serve a 60-day sentence and filed $100 in Newcastle city court Monday, was under indictment by the Wayne county grand jury for alleged illegal sale of intoxicating liquor in Wayne county. His trial was set for March 25. Local authorities are expecting to let the case rest until the expiration of the term Richardson is now serving at the state penal farm.
