CRUMPLED QUAKERS SEEK REDEMPTION IN FRANKLIN GAME Earlham's basketball team continued on its losing streak Saturday night with the IndianaDental flv furnishing the rollers for the toboggan. The game was well played on the Indianapolis Athletic club floor, and the figures for the catastrophe were 24-19. According to the reports of the game brought back by the squad of rooters which accompanied the Maroon and White team, the tooth-pullers showed a marked improvement over their demonstration here early in the season when the locals had little difficulty in defeating them 21-10. The Quakers, on the other hand, showed the effect of the stiff game with Butler, on the preceding night. Close Guarding. The contest is said to have 6hown some of-the closest guarding ever seen on the Indianapolis floor. Both teams demonstrated an almost airtight defense. The score at the end of the

KEVVPIE FIVE DROPS FINAL TOURNEY GAME

MUNCIE, Feb. 28. Richmond Kewpies dropped the final game of the Indiana Junior tournament held here Saturday when the Muncie Midgets handed them a 27, 14 defeat. The Richmond team was the . surprise of the meet and were not doped to go so hiarh. With clever basket-ball they defeated all comers up to the final game. Richmond faced a much stiffer schedule than did the local team and were forced to play three games within as many hours, not getting out of their gym suits until the last game was finished, while the Midgets did not have as stiff a schedule and were allowed the much needed rest between games. The final game was nip and tuck in the first half, tbe lead changing very

often. The half ended 12-8 in favor

of the Midguts. The second half started off with a rush Richmond tieing the score. The teams battled on even terms for several minutes when the fast tiring Richmond team went to pieces. ing of Johnson was responsible for the low score of the opponents, Fac Franklin. This week the Earlhamites will prepare for the final game of the season with Franklin at the Coliseum Thursday night. With one victory over the Thuberites to their credit the locals should end up their season with a victory. It is probable that Beck will be kept out of the final contest because of the I. C. A.
