FRANCES BURTCH, OF GREENVILLE, EXPIRES; WAS OLD RESIDENT
GREENVILLE, Feb. 2b. The death of Mrs. Frances Lavina Burtch, widow of M. W. Burtch, a former pioneer resident of Dawn, occurred at the home of her son-in-law, R. R. Winters. C07 Washington avenue, Saturday
after an illness of three days, of heart trouble. Mrs. Burtch was 86 years and 6 months of ag at tl"! time of her death, and prior to mo:ng to this city, had resided in the village of Dawn for over fifty years. She is survived by two daughters. Mrs. E. E. Niswonger, of Dayton, and Mrs. R. R. Winters, of this city. Funeral service!1 will be held at the Winters J nme on Washington avenue, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. Voxhi in charge. Interment in the Beamsville cemetery. Legion Sells Equipment. At a meeting held recently the LeRoy Farst Post, -American Legion, located at New Madison, this county, decided to sell .their furniture and club, room equipment. The post has no intention of closing up entirely, but the proceeds of the sale will be placed to its credit in the bank. Settle Old Suit. The case of the State of Ohio and Ruth St. John, vs. William Livingston, on a paternity charge, has been settled out of court. The case, which was to havo been heard in Darke County Common Pleas court last Saturday, is
of long standing, and was filed in 1317. Rotary Installs Officers. A very interesting meeting of the Greenville Rotary club was held at the St. Paul's parish house recently, and officers for the ensuing year, 'who had been elected at a previous meeting, wore installed. Several prominent Dayton Rotarians were present at the meeting as guests. The following Greenville men were inducted into office: President, G. W. Mannix, Jr.; vice-president, E. A. Grubbs; secretary, Thomas Cooke; treasurer, Conrad Kipp; directors, F. D. Cop- . pock; J. B. Duffy, E. C. Wright. George F. Taylor, Roy Amnion and Adelbert Martz.
Sigma Chi Fraternity Banquets Next Saturday Members of the Sigma Chi college fraternity in Richmond and Wayne, county are in receipt of Invitations to attend the state banquet and reunion of the-organization at the Claypool hotel in Indianapolis, Saturday, March 5. A model initiation will be staged at the banquet by the Wabash college chapter of the fraternity. Honor medals will be awarded to members of the fraternity who have made an enviable record for themselves by
their work in their college or chapter. A matinee dance will be held in the afternoon for the younger members.

MIDDLEBORO, Ind. An illustrated talk on missions, and songs illustrated by pictures will be featuies of an entertainment to be given at 7:30 o'clock next Thursday evening, March 3. at tbs Middleboro M. E. church. The time which was announced for Friday has been changed to Thursday evening. No admission will be charged but a collection will be taken.

LOGANSPORT Mrs, Lulu Mitchell. 21 years old, an attendant at the Longcliff hospital for insane here, was arrested Sunday charged with petit larceny. The charges were preferred by Dr. Samuel Dodds, head of the institution. Mrs. Mitchell is alleged to have stolen a shirtwaist from one of the other women attendents. GREENCASTLE Russell Lisby. 17 years old, was fatally injured Sunday when the buggy in which he was riding was struck by an interurban car nt Gibson crossing, one mile east of Fillmore. The lad was returning home from church and it is believed he was a sleep in the buggy and failed to note the approaching car.
