WARRIORS OF LEGION IN PINK OF CONDITION FOR CINCINNATI FRAY Basketball fans of the American Legion are looking forward to an eve- ' ning of great sport when John Popkins, L. B. Harrison club basketball team stacks up against the American Legion basketball five on the Coliseum floor Wednesday night for a 40-min-ute tilt. Popkins has a wonderful machine and the red and black will have to play their best to turn in a victory. He has a trio of offensive men that is hard to beat in Overland, Dickason and Bacon. Bacon is well known here as a referee and player having played here this season with the Merchants, Heat and Light five of Indianapolis. He holds down one of the forward positions with the Buckeye five. The local guards will find any two of these men hard to stop. Popkins Center. At the center position Popkins or Bayes will be seen, Popkins is well known to local fans, also, but as a baseball player having played here several years ago. The guarding department will be taken care of by Reese, Munns and Brate. Reese is a former Dayton Cadet player and is now playing in Cincinnati, Munns and Brate played on the Miami "U" five last year and were the stars of their team. Brate was chosen as back guard on the mythical all Ohio conference five. The ex-soldiers have been practicing hard since their game last Wednesday with the Denver team and are in excellent condition for the fray Wednesday night. Coaches Harrington and Parker have been putting the men through stiff practices every night and they believe every man is in the best of condition for the game. New Combinations. Several new combinations have been tried out by the coaches and although they show up to good advantage they do not work as smoothly as the original lineup and it is doubtful if any changes will be made Wednesday night. The first game of the evening promises to be a lively scrap when the Fountain City K. of P. basketball five and the Campbellstown five mix it up for 40 minutes. Both teams are hitting a lively pace this season. Fountain City has one victory over Campbellstown having defeated them earlier in the season and the Ohio five promises to avenge this defeat. The game will start at 7:30 sharp. The first four rows of the two center sections on both sides of the Coliseum are reserved and are on sale at the Starr Piano company store rooms. The price of reserved seats is 75 cents and the general admission is 50 cents. The doors will open at 7 o'clock. BUY CHAMPION TROTTER.
