VANT FULL ROSTER OF GUARD COMPANY . HERE BY THURSDAY Immediate enlistment In the National Guard la being urged by those sponsoring the new company , in Richmond. Enrollments picked up Saturday afternoon and night at the armory and the leaders are now planning to have the company roster filled by Thursday night when Adjutant -General Harry B. Smith, of Indianapolis, will address all men of the city interested In national guard work. Thursday's meeting will be held In the K. of P. building on South Eighth street, at 7:30 p. m. Several Important announcements ..are expected to come out of this meeting, according to local men. Anxious To Organize. Richmond began the recruiting of her national guard company later than many cities of the state, and several other cities who thus far have been denied the right of a company, are clamoring for the company that would be open if Richmond and Wayne county failed to raise the required number. Frank Benn, who Is largely responsible for the bringing of the company to Richmond, does not expect any great difficulty in enlisting the required number, but states that he Is anxious to see the company get under way as soon as possible. With the reaching of the goal of 65, which has been set for Richmond's company, medical examinations and measuring for uniforms will begin. These preliminaries may be started the last of this week If enrollments continue. Posters announcing the formation of the company and stating that the armory is open from 7:30 to 9 p. m. each day, are being put over the city. Other facts are outlined.

MURRETTE. Georges Carpentier, who wil! be seen shortly at the Murrett-i thaatre in "The Wonder Man," the RobertsonCole super-special picture, is known as the gentleman of the boxing ring and
an all-round" athlete. In his tastes and amusements this sporting "Beau Brummel" could set a standard for members of the social world everywhere. He is fond of the theatre, but prefers serious plays to variety and he likes grand opera better than Jazz music. He is one of the best amateur billiard players in Europe, belongs to the smartest clubs in Paris and London, is an excellent horseman, an expert fencer, a fine swimmer, a crack oarsman, plays golf and tennis and in polevaulting clears the bar at six feet two inches. WASHINGTON.' Maurice Tourneur's latest production, "Deep Waters," will be the attraction at the Washington theatre next Friday and Saturday. The story was adapted from F. Hopkinson Smith's popular novel, "Caleb West, Master Diver." and the scenes are laid on the New England coast . Caleb West, a man past his prime, and his girl-wife, Betty, are the central figures in the story. Betty becomes attached to a youth named Bill Lacey, and although she does not love him they run away togethe. Later, the ship upon which Lacey is traveling is wrecked and Caleb West brings the body of the young man to the sur
face. In a dramatic scene the loyalty of Betty to her husband asserts itself and' a touching reconciliation takes place between the two. "Deep Waters" introduces in the leading feminine role, Mr. Tourneur's latest "find," Barbara Bedford. Broerken Christian plays the male lead, and others in the cast include Jack Gilbert, Lydia Teammans Titus, and George Nichols. The picture is a Paramount. MURRAY. The romance of a man who by sheer force of will and intelligence raised himself from1 a driver of cattle to a wizard of finance is told in "The Marriage Pit." in which Frank Mayo stars, at the Murray theatre, starting Monday. The young hero, "Strong of the Street," breaks down the social barrier an aristocratic beauty had erected between them and after a masterful wooing marries her. The development of her love for her husband in a postmarriage romance is one of the strangest situations of the screen. Frank Mayo is the self-made hero of the romance. His own aunt, Belle Stoddard Johnstone, appears in pictures for the first time, as the mother of his sweetheart in the story. Lovely Lillian Tucker is the girl, and Dagmar
Godowsky has one of her characteristic vampire parts of the chorus girl who leads Mayo's rival to ruin. Others of the cast are Hal Wilson, Frederick Vroom, Boyd Irwin, Robert Dunbar, Ray Ripley and Will Herford. The kaleidoscopic shifting of the action Jrom office to boudoir to theatre to stock exchange, to mansions on Riverside Drive, resorts in the Berkshires and tfte plains of the west, is evidenced by the fact that tie company worked at Universal City on 33 distance settings in 21 days. WASHINGTON. A beautiful California seaside castle is the background for much of the action in Lois Weber's latest photoplay production, "To Please One Woman," which is now the chief attraction at the Washington theatre. The mansion stands on the famous beach at Santa Monica, and is the prcpertyof a wealthy retired Californian. In "shooting" many of the interior scenes Miss Weber embellished the already sumptuous furnishings with many of her own personal treasures worth thousands of dollars. These rich surroundings serve as the background for the central figure
in "To Please One Woman," a beautiful, supremely selfish woman, who is in the habit of using all men as her slaves. Taking up residence in the seaside home, which is near a small town, she becomes interested in a young doctor. She fascinates him with her sophisticated charm and succeeds in luring him away from the innocent country girl to whom he is engaged. In the end, however, the selfish woman is frustrated, and true romance carries off the victory. Claire Windsor, Mona Lisa, and Edward Burns play the chref roles in "To Please One Woman," which was written and directed by Lois Weber. It is a Paramount picture. Also on the program is a Mack Sennett comedy, "Movie Fans."
