A large Catherine of Country club members, their friends and out-of-town guests attended open house at the club New Year's afternoon. Refresh ments were served and Smith's orchestra played for the dancing. Mrs. Charles Kolp and Miss Elizabeth Kolp assisted in entertaining the children. The social committee was also assisted by Miss Margaret Hiatt, Miss Margaret Coe, Miss Alice Lemon, Miss Anna Hale, Miss Helen Robinson, Miss Janet Harris and Miss Virginia Harris. The dance for members and out-of-town guests Saturday evening was a very successful affair. The Evan Smith orchestra played the program of dances. Prof. W. N. Trueblood of Earlham college delivers the third of a series of lectures on "Drama as an Art" before the literary department of the Woman's club Tuesday at i:30 p. m. in the Morrisson-Reeves library. The Junior Luther league of Trinity Lutheran church will meet Tuesday evening at the home of the Rev. Oscar T. F. Tressel. AH members are invited to be present. Miss Gertrude Eggleston was hostess for a dinner party at her home on South Twelfth street Saturday evening. Roses artistically arranged were used for decoration. Covers were laid ' for Miss Katberine Binlcley, Miss Doris Puckett, Miss Gertrude Eggleston. Harry Thomas, Linden Edgerton and Cecil Cureton. Mrs. Wallace Kendall entertained Thursday eveninc with a miscellaneous shower for the pleasure of Mrs. Ralph Buroker, nee Miss Mary Schneider. Christmas decorations were used In the living and dining rooms. Little' Miss Marguerite Hites. dressed as a bride, presented the gifts to Mrs. Buroker. Musio and contests entertained the guests and a dainty luncheon was served. Beautiful in all its appointments was the dinner given Saturday noon by Mr. and Mrs. Franklin C. Hebbeler at their home on Kinsey street. Carrying out a color scheme of red and green, red roses formed the .centerpiece. At each place was a red candle in a crystal holder tied with green. on India at Centerville CENTER VILLE, Ind., Jan. 3. A lecture by Alpheus Sampson, of India, will be given Tuesday evening at -the M. E. church under the auspices of the Boys Club of this place. This lecture is entitled "Life in the Orient" and has been delivered by Mr. Sampson in a number of neighboring towns.
