FLYING SQUADRONS

Ul UUU I UIHU Ul I IUL.IIW USED BY GERMANY

(By Associated Press) ".' BERLIN, Dec 22. Smuggling over the Dutch and Danish frontiers, which the German government had gone to great effort to suppress, again Is flourishing "on a colossal scale" and at some points with the full knowledge and connivance of many government officials, according to reports rcachInz here. Smugglers are declared to be outbidding the government for the aid of dishonest officials and the "veritable army of customs officers on the borders have permitted millions of marks worth of tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, coffee, and sugar to cross the . border duty-free within . the last few months." Flying squadrons of customs officers

have been organized by the govern

ment to catch the smugglers who are said to have so thoroughly systema

tized their operations that "customs receipts are rapidly falling back to nothing, for custom control isgain

only on paper. Coffee is Smuggled.

Fifty thousand pounds of coffee are

being smuggled over the border daily at- one point, av report says, and

smuggTers everywhere axe forking trith the sympathy and assistance of

all dwellers along the frontiers. .

Men, women, and even children are said to be engaged in this trade. High prices, low wages of customs officials, and the depreciated value of the mark

is credited as ono of the principal

causes for the - wide-spread violation

of import , and exnort regulations.

The smugglers are described as be- . ing so well organized and so confident they cirry on their business "by land

and wholesale scale, and quite openly

It's usually a sign of sick kidneys, especially if the kidney action Is disordered, passages scanty or too frequent. Don't wait for more serious troubles. Begin using Doan's Kidney Pills. Read this Richmond testimony.

Henry Brokamp, machinist, 60 Sherman street, says: "I have been using Doan's Kidney Pills off and on for several years just as I would need them and they have done me more good than all the other remedies put together. I used, to be troubled a lot with my kidneys,- but now it is only seldom that they bother me. Sometimes my back would get so weak and ache through the small of it that it put my kidneys out of order and the secretions would pass too frequently. Each time I have been troubled this way, I have bought a box of Doan's Kidney Pills at Luken & Co.'s Drug Store, and they have never failed to relieve me. I most gladly recommend Doau's to others." Price 60c, at all dealers. Don't simply ask for a kidney remedy get Doan's Kidney Pills the same that Mr. Brokamp had. Foster-Milburn Co., Ifrs., Buffalo, N. Y. Advertisement.
