NEW YORK'S WARFARE
ON BUILDING TRUST
BRINGS INDICTMENTS ... NEW YORK.. Nov. 25. New York's warfare against the "Building Trust" today brought forth three new indictmenta, charging extortion, as well as testimony linking the 'wrought iron and wrought steel, industries .to tho long' list of other producers of construction materials which are alleged ; unlawfully to be holding prices uni- ' form throughout the country. i While the allied forces of an extraordinary grand Jury and the joint . f legislative committee made this progress in their major offensives, legal skirmishes took place in two courts, and the city's independent Inquiry into its millions of dollars in contracts was I postponed until Monday. Twice during the day the. Joint committee was diverted from its investigation to defend itself against onslaughts in the courts. The committee was victorious in both occasions. Builders' Bureau Defeated. i Decisive defeat marked the efforts of the Builders' Material Bureau in ', both the supreme and appellate courts , to restrain the committee from seizing
;. its -books and from examining Its - . V TT1IV fTnn
i Two injunctions were obtained by t counsel for the bureau, but quickly
' these were vacated, and later in the
day an application for a stay was denied. , Then counsel for the bureau agreed to produce the books and papers under the subpoena and to have an officer of th bureau on hand to testify. Miss O'Oea already had been adjudged to be in contmpt by the committee for failure to observe a summons. Robert P. BrindelL president of the Building Trades Council and alleged "King" of building trades workmen in the metropolis, was named in two of today's indictments, both charging extortion. The other indictment, also charging extortion, was against Brindell's "Chief of Stair." Peter Stadtmiller. a member of the Building Trades Council. Bail Fixed at $100,000. Stadtmiller's bail was fixed at $100,000. Brindell, already under $100,000 bail on previous indictments one charging extortion and. the other attempted extortion was not required to provide additional bail, but it was intimated he might be called on to do so Friday.

GERMANS CONDEMN ZEPPELIN SEIZURES (By Associated Press) STUGGART, Germany, Nov. 24. If confiscation of Zeppelin airships at Lake Constance and Nordstern should be permitted by Germany the allies will "undoubtedly claim the right to the new building plane and inventions through which the ZeDDelin concern
has intended to vastly promote thel
use of airships for commercial purposes." This statement s made in an article printed in the Schwaebische Kurier by Dr. Eckener, one of the constructing engineers employed by the Zeppelin company. Dr. Eckener savagely attack3 the action of the allies in seizing Zeppelin machines, character
izing the taking of these vessels as "naked robbery." "The only purpose of such procedure," he adds, "is the entente's desire to get hold of the best products of German skill and further cripple Germany economically, as these ships were to be used in purely peaceful pursuits. The German government should take immediate steps to prevent this plundering of . home industries by the entente."
