(By Associated Press) BERLIN, Nov. 24. One hundred eminent persons, among them Crown Princess Cecilie, Prince Eitel Friedrich, Prince August Wilhelm, the late Prince Joachim, Count Padolin and Princess Wanda Radziwill, have smuggled to Holland money aggregating 250,000,000 marks, asserted Hermann Mueller, former German chancellor, in the reichstag Tuesday. The former chancellor interpellated the government relative to the activities of the firm of Crusser and Phillipson, bankers, which is declared to have carried on an extensive business

in smuggling property out of Germany. It was asserted that he head of the tanking firm had been enrolled in the German armv and was on good terms v ith the nobility, and that the concern hr,d "been known publicly as a special frm for the carrying on of contraband in goods and capital." It was said to have grown so large that it was able to buy eventually nearly 10,000,000 shares in the firm of Shclesinger, Trier and Company. "I ask the government" said the former chancellor, "what has been done in the case of the banking firm of Sinner. Borghland & Company, which has been accused of smuggling. I demand that people known as smugglers should be severely punished." Probe. Hangs Fire. Replying, Dr. Wirth, minister of finance, said the public prosecutor had Pot concluded his investigation of the Sinner, Borghland & Company case, but he asserted that the banking houses mentioned were evidently engaged in smuggling capital out of the country. "The government." he continued, "learned a few days ago that millions of lis cash and securities v.ere standing to the credit of German subjects with the firm of Crusser & Phillipson. in Amsterdam, and that these million:? had gone there through r.n Intermediary in contravention of German laws. The public prosecutor started an inquiry Into the flight of this capital, and the firm's books have been seized. Proceedings are pending against a number of persons who sent money to Holland, but I am unable to give exact details. It is correct that among persons having accounts with Grosser. Phillinson and company are members of princely houses and some of the Hohenzollern family. The finance department has boon instructed to demand security up to the highest possible figure from customers from the Grosser bank. Refrigeration and Meat

In less than an hour after an animal is dispatched in a Swift & Company packing plant, it is hanging up as meat in a room brought by refrigerating machinery to a temperature just above freezing. From that time until it is in your own ice box within two to three weeks it is kept at the same temperature; first in the coolers at our packing plants; next on our refrigerator cars, more than 6,000 of which are constantly moving to market with their perishable cargoes; then in our refrigerator rooms at our branch selling houses; then in your dealer's ice box, and last in your own. Only for the few minutes while it is being put into the refrigerator cars at our packing plants, or taken out cf them at our branch houses, or whisked to your retailer in our trucks, is it exposed to any change of temperature. Without a skilled use of this system of cooling, made possible by modern science, you could not get fresh meat, prepared under most sanitary conditions, except at greater expense unless you happened to live so near live stock raising centers that your needs could be supplied from live stock raised near-by.

If the foregoing raises any question in the mind of the reader, we will endeavor to answer it, upon request.
