Young Business Men " Urge Buying at Home A "Buy at Home" campaign of an educational nature will be started by the Young Men's Business club in the near future. A committee is to be appointed by the president to outline the best methods of publicity to the club. Walter Fulghum, who presided at the meeting Tuesday night in the K. of P. building, presented a detailed outline of the new proposed chamber of commerce. He stated that the purposes of the young men's club and the commerce organization were different and would not conflict in any manner. Prof. J. E. Maddy, .supervisor of music in the Richmond schools, and director of the Richmond Symphony orchestra, has accepted the directorship of the Richmond City and American Legion bands. Roland Nusbaum, whom he succeeds a3 director of the American Legion band, was forced to resign because of business duties. Lee B. Nusbaum. who resigned the leadership of the city band, was unanimously elected vice president of the organ ization at its meeting Monday evening. Richmond City band will be madu into a concert band by Director Maddy and 30 more players wll be added to its personnel. The new concert band voted to offer its services to the Chamber of Cjomeree for its organization meeting on Dec. .1. Later a winter concert will be put on by the band. . Prof. Maddy is attracting much attention by his work in the musical field here. He has organized an orchestra in each of the grade schools, besides the one in Garfield and the two in high school. Classes in violin and piano also have been started for grade school children under his super vision, which give the children an opportunity to study under excellent teachers at a very small cost. At the high school, a glee club, several choruses and the high school band have been organized under his supervision. His ability as a director was revealed at the concert of the Richmond Symphony orchestra on Nov. 15.
